Friendly, bright revamped (earlier in 2013) spot downtown. Eye opening tap selection of styles and fresh beers. worth going out of the way for, one of the best selection in Detroit area if not the best. I am told the food is great.

Easy to find location with easy street parking. Busy but got two seats at bar. Friendly staff and good service. Good draft and bottle selection. Food was delivered quickly and was nice portions at a very fair price. Well worth the visit and rating.

people had been very insistent that I go there so we finally made the trek on a Wednesday, not thrilled by the long wait time but in the end it was well worth it... the food is outstanding, some of the best bbq Iíve had period, the sauces are all great... the draft selection is decent but they donít provide a beer list and the chalk board is really hard to read so it makes ordering difficult, decent bottle selection as well... good service... come for the food but you can get a good beer as well

Best BBQ Iíve ever had inside a really well designed space. Stacked with some fine taps from the Great Lakes region. Nothing rare on tap or in bottles, but everything is above average, for sure. Not to be missed.

A nice place in Detroit is always a plus. Good ambiance and service. Selection is good but not great. I have not been overly impressed with the BBQ, but most are. Prices are good.

Arrived around dinner time on a Saturday night and there was a pretty long wait list already. We managed to get a table on the patio fairly quickly though, we gambled on the rain holding off and did well. Patio is nice, you wouldnít really know that you are in Detroit! Tap list is impressive, with a decent mix of great beers I knew and local stuff I had never heard of. I tried Stone, Founders, Odd Side, and Motor City brews this visit. Most of our table got the "Your choice" plate of ribs, a second meat, and two sides. This is a ton of food. The mac and cheese was so big that it is almost entree sized elsewhere. The cornbread was some of the best I have ever had - light and fluffy and delicious. Ribs were very good, pulled pork was excellent. They have an assortment of sauces you add yourself. Overall, a great stop. Staff was friendly and relatively knowledgeable about the tap list, though our server confused a few beers with each other at one point. Will definitely come back here the next time I am in Detroit.

Immediately after you set foot inside the smell of amazing food overwhelms the senses. Next you see a top notch tap list that is a combination of the best in Michigan and a few from further afield. Put together it would be hard to come here without finding at least one worthwhile draft. Prices are typical of a high end place with the more limited going up to about $8.
The neighborhood itself is a little rough but there should be ample parking. While I may not go on a Friday night this is a definite stop in Detroit for Sunday brunch. Come hungry and leave full of great pork, ribs, and a couple pints of your favorite Midwestern styles.

Rustic clean atmosphere. Seems constantly crowded, but with rapid turnover. They have a very good regional beer selection with rotating taps from shorts, arcadia, bells, original gravity, etc which are very good. They have a moderate bottle list and a great wine selection. The food is outstanding. A must see in Detroit.

Visited with my girlfriend before heading to the Wings & Jets game on December 10th.
Atmosphere: finished-wood-on-worn-brick decor gives the place an inviting "down home" feel that works well for a barbecue joint. Lots of tables surrounding a U-shaped bar with some light coming in from outside. Only complaint is that we felt a bit cramped since the restaurant was jam packed.
Service: our waiter was a really funny and jovial guy who provided great recos and lots of laughs. Food came out quickly and after we finished our meal the server assured us that we still had plenty of time to enjoy a few drinks (but we had a game to catch!).
Selection: went with an Arbor Brewing Milestone Porter on cask and a pint of Larry Hoppe Double IPA from the same brewery. Both beers paired beautifully with the BBQ and my girlfriend liked her white wine. Other standouts were Southern Tier Mokah, Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald, and Weihenstephaner White Hoplosion on tap and Stone 15th Anniversary in bottles.
Food: ordered the three dishes that were featured on MVF Nation (Brisket Enchilada, Slowís Mac-N-Cheese, Triple Threat Pork); each one was incredibly good. The pork was super tender and juicy and I couldnít get enough of the delicious spicy sauce on the Enchilada. First-rate fare.
Overall: Slowís combines my two favourite things like no other. This would be my regular hangout if I lived in the area and itís probably even better during down times (if they have any). A mandatory stop for beer and barbecue lovers with the best micro lineup in Detroit.
