Smoky Mountain Brewery has four east Tennessee locations. The first branch to open was in Gatlinburg, in quite a distinctive building. Itís an Alpine chalet-style structure in a little enclave off the main drag of souvenir shops, entered through a gate warning that youíll need a receipt to get out at the other end. We had the receipt ready when we left (via a huge car park in a forested area at the back) but didnít need it as it was out of season. Inside the chalet, thereís the brewery and kitchen downstairs and a huge light and airy room upstairs where all the pillars are covered in bank notes. We had lunch and a flight of nine beers, all of which were a bit sweet. Nevertheless it was a pleasant stop on a roundabout route between Knoxville and Asheville.

Does flights from three samples to all beers available. Decent food. Fairly knowledgeable staff. Got busy fast. Beer was sub par but great for Gatlinburg.

Food prices are very good, they have their own brand available with a number of styles. Worth trying if you are nearby.

I really liked this place. Server Elizabeth, was very attentive and personable. Atmosphere was great. Beer selection (draft) was limited to own line of beer. Some was very good, some was marginal. Prices seemed a little high on the food, but not really bad. I will definitely come back when in the area.

Love this place every time we go. They have pretty good beer unless youíre a beer snob. I enjoy mircos and Iím not going to complain because the hops arenít taking my breath away.

Nice place - comfortable surroundings and good food (my nephews really like the place). Beer is the average brew-chain quality. Youíre in Gatlinburg so you should expect a tourist trap but prices arenít that horrible. Have bottled beer to go.

stopped by 7/13/11 on the way out of the national forest. what a dump this town is! smb was not, however. surprisingly decent selection of 8 house beers and good food (even though the menu was limited because the kitchen caught on fire!...bitchiní). solid service. it seemed a little corporate but the mountain setting helped to distract me from that.... plus, itís pretty cheap.

Visited on a Monday afternoon and sat at the bar. Bartender did not promote their beer at all. Had to ask for a list/description of beers. The beer selection seemed to be aimed at the bud/miller/coors fan as most of the beers were golden colored or lacking in hops. The only beer that appeared to have prominent hops, pale ale, was good enough for me to enjoy a few pints. The prices were good too - we had 4 or 5 pints and the bill was about $10.

Smoky Mountain Brewery in Gatlinburg, TN is right in the middle of a tourist trap. The beers were mostly OK, some were pretty good, I bought a growler of the Porter. The food is cheap and pretty itís much bar food. Itís served on plastic with checkerboard paper. The service, however, was just fine. Overall, this place is pretty low-rent, but the beers are not half bad to try if you are in town.

The place is a bit hard to find as it is nestled back in a little shopping plaza right as you enter town from the park side, but well worth stopping by. Food there was typical bar type food, but good - personally I recommend the reuben. Beers werenít amazing, but most of them were pretty solid and well priced. I got the sampler of all 8 that they had on tap and it was less than $10 I think. You can also get 6ers to go for under $2 a bottle which I thought was reasonable given the fact that there is very little else in the way of beer selection in the smokies. If you are in gatlinburg, this is definitely the beer place to stop.
