Clean place with a good selection. Being a little out of the way for many, you may find something here that has become scarce in all of the other major Knoxville places.

Bright clean safe store. Knowledgeable staff. Always carry everything available. Always cheaper than McScrooges. Best place to shop in South Knoxville.

About as good as McScrooge’s but could be out of the way depending on where you are coming from. One of the best over six selections in Knoxville.

Decent selection. DFH, Chimay, some Rogue, Mendocino, Westmalle, Unibroue, a few italian saisons, and Great Divide. Great for the area and close to home for me. McScrooge’s has the same selection but with a few others.

Smoky Mountain Wine and Spirits is one of the larger liquor stores in Knoxville. It is located conveniently on 441 on the way into town from the east. They devote a decent amount of space to beer and have most of the stuff that comes through. I’d say McScrooge’s is the only store that clearly has a better selection, maybe Turkey Creek.

This is a pretty cool place. Convenient near the intersection with John Sevier Highway... They get some of the beers that don’t show up at all the other stores. I bought a Double Bastard here, actually. Staff seems at least reasonably knowledgeable.

52 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20
Typical Knoxville liquor store, with 100 or so high abv (6%+) micro and import beers sold singly. DFH, Mendocino, Great Divide and maybe 10 others by the four or six-pack. Staff knows where the beer is located, which is better than most. Update July 2015: still an OK selection, but they seem to have given up on improving even with the new changes in TN law. They have quit keeping any beers in a cooler. Old bearded guy that seems to be the owner is the typical Southern good ole boy dickhead that appearss to be all about liquor and won’t even give me the time of day although I’ve spent thousands of dollars in his store in the last twenty years and have lived here for 50 of my 53 years.
