Very open layout, nice wooden bar.Service was quick and friendly, good pricing. They were out of a few of their tap offerings, but still had a decent selection. Very good beer. Worth stopping in for sure.

This place has become on of my top places for a beer in San Diego. Most everything Iíve had here is outstanding. They do monstrously sharp IPAís like nobodyís business. When Roustabout is on tap itís a beautiful thing. Their stouts are fantastic too. The staff is friendly, and tries to get through the crowd efficiently. Their "collection" of food trucks is varied, eclectic, and good. Definitely worth the stop.

Stopped in here after visiting Alesmith, had a few of their beers in SF about a week ago so I was really looking forward to trying a few more of them at the source. Upon entering it is quickly apparent that this place is WAY bigger than it looked like from the outside. Tons of tables to the left over near the large barrel room with a large L shaped bar to the right. Atmosphere was pretty good even for the middle of the afternoon. Plenty of people milling about the large seating area creating a laid back vibe. Service was solid all around. I was served by two different bartenders and both were good. Guy just wanted to get my beers and thats about it while the woman was more pleasant and talked to me for a little while. Quality was quite high. From the nice wood bar tops to the stainless metal growlers, everything just feels high end. Selection was quite good, they had 9 beers on and 2 others kicked. I was a little sad the pale ale was off because I had heard such amazing things but the other 9 more than made up for that. Prices were no problem, growlers are a little on the high side but they use metal ones so no problem there just be prepared for it. I got a 1L for $15, canít wait to use it. Overall a really awesome brewery with a really nice space to showcase their beers. I will definitely return the next time I am in the area.

Stopped on a Friday night, sat at the bar and charged my phone. Ordered 6 tasters and 2 pints, $15 total. Service was excellent and they helped us plan a few more brewery stops. Cool atmosphere and outstAnding beers.About 12 beers on tap, a food truck was present.

We visited this brewery 23.12.2013. One of so many new micro breweries founded in the last 1-2 years in Sn Diego. Itís amazing how big the brew house is. The place has not too much unique atmosphere, a bit of a clone of the others. The beers were average and the service rather unfriendly.

Went here with Jeremy - pretty cool space. The bar itself is small and cramped, but the larger space is very impressive, large wooden tables and everything overlooks the brewing operation, including the nascent barrel room that everybody seems to be talking about. Friendly staff, good prices, and good beer. What more do you want?

I was extremely impressed with this place. Huge expansive room with very high ceilings with an industrial feel and 10 beers on tap at the time. All the beers were quality, especially the IPAs which were fantastic. Servers were very friendly and quick to serve. Prices are very reasonable as well. Iíd say this is a must stop in San Diego.

(Visiting 10/2013): Societe is in the northern part of San Diego (almost in Mira Mesa) on Clairemont Mesa which is not too far off the 805. It is in an industrial/business park, and there is a parking lot in front of the building.

The interior is large and open, with a bar area right past the entrance that features wooden floors and ceiling as well as a long L-shaped bar also sculpted from wood. Cream colored walls augmented with cool Victorian characters in silhouette that correspond to the beers. There is a large board behind the bar depicting the beers on tap, and beyond the bar is a wide open view of the brewery. I also saw a sign cautioning patrons against brewers throwing feces.

The beer selection consists of around 15 taps. On my visit it included The Harlot, Debutante, Widow, Madame, Publican, Bachelor, Apprentice, Pupil, Scrapper, Pugilist, Roustabout and Butcher. All of the beers were enjoyable, and sample sizes are an option.

Service on a Friday afternoon was good. All of the staff with whom I interacted were knowledgeable and were happy to talk beer.

Societe does not offer food.

Overall this is a worthwhile visit for the San Diego area.
