I was warned but I decided to stop anyway. The food is reminiscent of Dennyís food and the beer is meh but over all Iíve been to much worse. The IPA was heavily dry hopped so thereís that. The Scottish ale came in second place I suppose. The bartender was real nice and friendly and knew a fair amount about the beers. We tried all 6 of the house beers (5 regular and a seasonal strong ale) and hung out for a bit before heading 2 blocks further down the street to Liquid Bread and A Bellagio (closed until 5 sadly). If you time it right you can park in the area and get 4 place ticks on foot.

I think Sonoma Chicken Coop often goes unnoticed as a brew pub. It is good size with both a upstairs and a downstairs and a good size bar. It is a great place to get in and out. You go up to the counter order your food and then find your seat. They call your number then you go back to the counter and pick up your food. Nice and easy with good food and good beer. Nothing is outstanding here but it is relatively inexpensive and a good place to take the family, so for the price it is a very good deal. The mini chocolate fondue is great, and they have a really good kid’s plate

Stopped in for lunch and to try the beers. Sat at the bar with a few regulars and ordered chicken wings and a beer flight. The owner/brewer, who appears slightly off his rocker, was out in the bar waving around a huge knife and talking shit with the regulars. Seemed nice enough, but that wild look in his eyes kept me a spectator. Beers? Meh at best, although the brewer was certainly proud of his $1 Million plus in beer sales last year. Food? Double meh. Not really itching to return.

Seems to be a revolving door of breweries as everything was branded as Campbell brewing when I went. The beers (5-6) were pretty mediocre on the whole when I went, with a couple being well below average. Service was slow, despite there being almost no one in the bar. Food looked and smelled pretty mediocre as well.

Itís actually the Roost Brewery located in the Sonoma Chicken Coop (the old Stoddards Brewpub) in downtown Campbell. Great location, good happy hour, outdoor seating, TVs for sports watching. They also have live music some nights. The Sonoma Chicken Coop food is mediocre at best but the place is always busy.

I like this place. The beers are ok and I like the ESB the best. They rarely have a double on tap. The food is OK and you order you food at a cashier and pick it up so you donít have to leave a tip. Live Bands Thur. Fri. Sat.
