80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 artmcd8 (43) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | May 10, 2013 Aweome location in the woods with a modern cabin feel. Had some beers on the deck during a beautiful day. The tour gives you a bunch of beer for your money and the prices are more than reasonable. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 charule (27) Pennsylvania | May 6, 2013 A very nice brewery. Natural wood everywhere. Great outdoor area for sunny days. Snacks are tasty. Large selection of good brews. Hope to return. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 16/20 phaleslu (314) Cincinnati, Ohio | January 27, 2013 Stopped in here on my way to St. Bonaventure for a SLU road game. The Empty Pint is on the back right side of a large, new-looking brewery. Really attractive place. Looks like the pub has a patio for warmer months. Not worth looking too closely in January. No stools at the smallish bar, which makes sense for the space. Gets crowded, with people at tables and those milling about, waiting for tours. I didn’t take a tour. Got a 4-pour (4 oz. each) sampler rack, as well as an 8 oz. beer. 14 taps; I had tried 9 of the beers before in bottles, and the other 5 consisted of 2 brewpub-only selections (Bourbon Back Burner and Du Witte), 1 brand new beer (Live), and 2 I just hadn’t gotten to yet (Eurotrash and 2XMas). So that was nice. Good range of bottles to go, too. Growlers appeared to be the real bargain here. Somehow my check was $31 for the sampler, small pour, and pulled pork sandwich. Someone else’s beers must have gotten charged to my tab or else most things here are absurdly overpriced. Which is a shame, because I liked the atmosphere a lot and struck up a conversation with a hockey fan from Buffalo. And there aren’t many other options in the area, so I had high hopes for this one. The service was fine, nothing special. One bartender was a bit aloof. I read in an old review that the food was good but there was literally one choice (that pulled pork, with chips), so don’t get your hopes up if you’ve got a group eating here. Worth a stop if you’re in this neck of the woods, but be sure to check the chalkboard and make sure your tab doesn’t get jacked up. Wish I would have thought about it before I left. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Ron (22) Rochester, New York | July 9, 2012 4th stop on ’Brew Tours 2012’. Surprised this was so crowded at 4pm on a Sat. in March. Maybe they should expand the bar area. Good selection of beers and good food. (I think they were lacking a sampler tray) The outside area should be nice when it gets warm. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 TheBrewSherpa (47) Belvidere, New Jersey | June 30, 2012 I stopped by the Empty Pint while on a 4000 mile motorcycle trip with my father and I HIGHLY recommend that you visit, either as the main destination, or as a way-point. There were 14 beers on tap and plenty of bottles available for purchase. Mike and the staff were excellent and gracious and the patrons of the pub were equally as outstanding. I’ve been to a great many breweries, and this is one of the best. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 bmerz (118) Brooklyn, New York | March 29, 2012 It was a while back that i was here but it’s a great brewery if driving through, or even as destination. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere in a good way. A pretty standard new built manufacturing business structure gives way to a nice little nano pub with lots of their bottles to buy, growlers to fill and pints to drink. Nice people, all local it seemed. They make awesome beer so why not go to the source. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 13/20 DiarmaidBHK (523) Pennsylvania | August 4, 2011 Well this place has as much ambience as a faux ski chalet located smack dab in the middle of an industrial park can have. They have 14 things on tap including a couple of things you typically only see in the large bottle. The service is typical corporate pour ’em fast and slide ’em down the bar. They also have a merch section next to the bar where you can also by some product. They have a surprisingly edible barbecue sandwich to be washed down by their very solid beer. The value for money is very good. I got a barbecue sandwich, chips, and a glass of beer for $9.25. Of course what’s preventing from giving a glowing review of this place is it’s corporate feel. No matter how good the beer is I can’t escape the feeling that I’m in Don Draper’s wet dream. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 rosenbergh (334) Helsinki, Finland | July 20, 2011 Brewery tap is called Empty Pint. 14 taps of Southern Tier. Quite new place, clean but quite cozy. Big patio. Busy on Sunday. Excellent beer, friendly staff. Most of the things 100% recycled. And food was just what it supposed to be - easy and good. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 jessilea (12) edinboro, Pennsylvania | March 18, 2011 Well worth the trip for the brewery tour and an hour or two of tasting. They make great beer, and often have great deals for those who take the time to find their way there. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 16/20 ontbeermaker (157) Ontario | February 18, 2011 Somewhat off the beaten path, easy to miss if your not looking for it, but once you find it. its great, very new and edgy feel. Really enjoyed this and as a bonus you pay only 3 dollars for a pint of regular ales and 4 for stouts and couple others. Can’t beat the price for this quality beer. If you come here I recommend the tour, for $10 you stand in side the brewery and drink I believe 5 different beers from a tap and they give you a souvner cup, worth the money. |
