Nice store for anything. They have a good selection of micros. I was able to get a couple of retired beers yesterday like a Unibroue Edition 2005. NIce but overall nice store.

General store for alcohol. Looks like a better store for wine. But, they do have a medium sized selection for beers. Some Belgians, but not as many as I expected. The micros are also spotty.

the specs in clear lake is better and i can tell you that the beer department has just as much as the downtown store, but with friendlier service.

I was pleased to find a store to have the selection I wanted. This is about the best in Houston. There are about 2-3 of these in Houton to choose from. They had quite a few craft breweries to choose from as well as your usual swill.

The Specís on Westheimer definitely has a better selection than the other Specís ive visited, namely the one on 290 and Jones. But yeah theyve got a good selection, and they discout you if you pay with cash. I hear they have some good food here but I havnt tried it.

About as good as it gets in Houston. Nice selection of brews, cigars, spirits, and fine food. If you like cheese, check out the bargain bin. You can get $7 cheeses for 99 cents. Downtown Houston is the best location, but satellite stores are good in a pinch. Not every store sells the same stuff but the basic inventory remains the same from store to store.
Great place. I think I have over 16,000 Specís Key Points right now...

I went to two Spec's on Westheimer, the same ratings generally apply to both. They seemed to have the same beer selection as far as I could tell.
The help I talked to were relatively educated in beer specifics and availability, but couldn't tell me if or whether they were going to get Thomas Hardy in. The had Stone IPA and Arrogant Bastard, Allagash Doubel, and a decent selection of imports and good micros but nothing earthshaking. Coming from Montana where you really can't get anything but regional micros, west coast macro-micros and big name european imports, Spec's was like heaven to me. They also have a large selection of wines (Central Market on Westheimer is better), cigars, and deli-type food accompaniments so that you can gear up for a dinner party or a picnic.
