This place has an amazing selection. Everything from New England specialties, to Alesmith and Stone and a very nice selection of Belgian beers. This was the only place on the trip with Alesmith, so I stocked up while I could. Half the store is dedicated to beer, and it’s certainly worth a stop if you’re anywhere in the nearby area.

Huge selection of beers from everywhere in the world. Rows of American micro singles, racks of corked bottles and a rare beer display case for when you feel like spending some real money. Overall good prices and expert advice from Hopistotle420. They also appear to have a great selection of wine and liquor. One of the best beer stores that I have ever been to. For some reason each time I drive through Amherst I end up here.

Spirit Haus is a must! They always have an enormous selection of beer in many different styles with some rare and difficult to find beer. We always find new beer when we stop in, about 6-8 times a year. Quite an interesting setup. The service is great with friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is always plenty of parking in front of the store.

I worked here for about a year my senior year of college at Umass. Great selection of belgians--lambics, trappists, saisons, strong ales, everything. Great domestic and british selection as well. Great staff (depending upon the night) and always some music playing. Big cooler in the back with more beer not on the warm shelves. Check the back shelf in the cooler! If you are looking for a tasty beer, ask for Benn (Hopistotle420). If he is there, he will tell you about the best beer available in the haus. Lots of rare and top shelf wine and liquor also available. I miss this place.

I truely enjoyed my stop there. Good selection of Belgian rareties, British ales (discounted), and major US micros. Had the Concord Rapscallion Blessing 4 pack with a chalice for 9$. Staff were knowledgeable. Even had recommendations from the village drunkard (dont mix beer with Mike’s Hard Lemonade).

Selection complements well what you can find at Table & Vine 2 towns over, with a bit more rarities and odd-ball, one-off Beers. I was able to find a Fantome Babillard and a few aged Gale’s Old ales, for example. Prices a bit more steep than T&V, but we got a discount at the cash so it evens out. I rarely got such friendly service at a bottle shop. The guy who took care of us knew his stuff, and even gave us free glasses. Highly recommended.

The whole time I went to UMass (5 years) I never once stopped in here. Probably because you needed a car to get here (which I didn’t have). Awesome beer selection! Tons of micros, all available in individual bottles on one side of the aisle, and tons of individual international beers on the other. They have growlers in the wall o’ fridges in the back. Good thing my mom lives in Amherst so I have a reason to come and visit Spirit Haus a few times a year.

This place was incredible. As noted, they had an great selection of vintage Thomas Hardy’s and JW Lee’s, including some I hadn’t seen in other places before. Pretty much everything under the sun made by Dog Fish Head was available here as well. Prices were also decent, with a discount available with bulk purchasing (or at least I got a discount and I was definitely buying a lot). The staff was very helpful and friendly. Got some good tips regarding other stores to check out and they even went to their backroom to grab me a few things that had not been on display yet when I asked after them. Overall, superb experience. I definitely recommend going here.

Lots and lots and lots of stuff here. You will find SOMETHING that interests you if you go here. Good ambiance, well laid out, a bit packed in, as it is a small store. Wooden cabinets that are refrigerated are quite interesting. All I can say is, vintage Thomas Hardys. Yes, I’ll take the 92, 95 and 99.
