62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 Maverick34 (42) New York | March 13, 2009 A beer bar loaded with LES hipsters and scenesters. Good but too crowded and service lacks, the staff is fairly clueless and stoned. Food is average at best. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 trapped (22) , Turkey | April 6, 2013 Long communal tables, full of young people, 40 beers on tap, modern decoration, small food menu, a bit pricey but not outrageous. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 podey (50) New York, New York | March 1, 2013 Decent selection and some pretty good food. Pretty nice layout and ambiance, but I was there midday so it wasn’t very crowded. Interesting location, especially if you can sit overlooking the street! | 68 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 puzzl (123) New York, New York | February 19, 2013 Frat boy central. There isn’t a person here under 6 feet tall. Besides me. I am under 6 feet tall. I feel like a man amongst giants in this place. But, the selection is good and the prices are decent and the food is tasty. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (56) Nueva York, New York | January 2, 2013 Interior is all modern looking with that wood vibe going throughout... there are no TVs usually, but there is one for certain sporting events. I didn’t have the food, but it seems to be fancy American comfort food. The draft selection was ok. Most of it is the standard above-average, New York, sort of beer bar selection, but there were a few obscurities, like Singlecut Lagrrr, which seems to not be sold anywhere else and Alphabet City Easy Blonde. Now, neither of those beers were that great, but this bar seemed to be one of the few places in which they are available. The ambiance is meh. When we said we were just drinking we were kicked to the backroom where we were mostly alone. The music playing was mostly indie rock and stuff. ’Twas ok. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 ben4321 (163) Hoboken, New Jersey | December 29, 2012 We swung by this afternoon for some midday drinks and escape from the cold/snow. This place has a nice layout, with an updated type look/feel to it. The bartender we had was decent, but could have been friendlier and more attentive. The draft last was very solid, with a good number of local beers on tap and quite a few other American micro offerings as well. I only saw maybe 2 or 3 non-domestics, and they were fairly standard (for example: Delirium). Still though, I thought the list was pretty solid. The menu looked interesting, but we didn’t eat. I’ll be back for sure. | 72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 bmerz (118) Brooklyn, New York | October 10, 2012 Good option in the LES for food and beer. But it’s not so focused on beer. Plus ithe design is really good. The draft list is engaging but not very adventurous. It can be hard to get a seat. Not really a beer spot anymore with so many places having comparable beer lists. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 ltdan546 (19) | August 11, 2012 Very cool place. We sat with our elbows and beers resting on a ledge looking into the street. Tons of selection, and the food was fantastic. It looks like others had problems with the service, but not us. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 MartinT (521) Montreal, Quebec | July 3, 2012 Gorgeous little bar with plenty of space between tables, families and couples alike enjoying themselves, eating or simply drinking. Beer menu has plenty to keep you busy for a while and the food looked quite good too for pub food. All in all, not one of NYC’s finest beer establishments, but a mighty pleasant bar where one can have fun with a few brews at any time of day. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 chimay67 (60) hunt sta, New York | January 19, 2010 Stopped in last Sat evening for a round. The Sixpoint Otis on Nitro just ran out, but they also had Brooklyn BC Stout and Young’s Double Choc on Nitro Pour. 3 Stouts on Nitro - nice! Didn’t try the food, but the menu looked good and the server’s were bustin it out. Communal tables in the front bar portion, small tables in the back for serious eats. For a place that is mainly a restaurant, it has an excellent selection. as bar, they could push the envelop a little more as far as variety. Overall, nice place and I’ll be back for a longer session next weekend.
| 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 TroyNYC (2) New York, New York | July 26, 2009 Met a friend for lunch and was impressed. Tried a few new beers. Good selection for most anyone. Crowd was a nice mix. Service was excellent. We had at least 4 staff members that made sure everything was good. Beer was excellent. Served in appropriate glass ware. Food was great. Short rib burger was one of the best I have had in NYC and the seafood sausage was pretty amazing. Prices were average for NYC. |
