A tram ride to north of the Raiway station. The address is a bit ambigous as it’s located down an alley and side on to a square away from Heinrichstrasse main street. All the table outside were taken, so we sat inside. The brew kit can be seen in the corner. Three of their own beers were on offer. Service was efficient. Food was also good, but a little expensive, but that’s Zurich for you.

Nice place a 20 minute walk from Downtown. Large indoor seating area, good spacey outdoor seating as well- quite popular Friday afternoon late September . Free wi-fi - not usual in Zürich.
Good quality on the house beers.
Worth a visit if you have the time

pleasent place, but only one house beer on tap despite the menu listing numerous. The waitress was totally clueless about the beers and even said they were brewed on premise, but on the menu (in English- the only thing in English) "All beers brewed and supported by Brauerie Steinfeld,Zurich" nice beer garten out front, friendly enough staff, but I can’t recomend if they only have one beer on tap 10, if they had 3-4 I would probably up the rating to 13 or 14.

10min by tram from the central station.
The interiour is very untypical for a brewpub.
Unfortunately I only had time for one beer, a summer APA which I really enjoyed. The Lager looked unfilterd and nice as well.

(Visited 11/2011): Steinfels brewpub is located on the north side of Zürich in the District 5 area, quite a hike from where our river cruise docked. It is in an industrial looking area, to the point where we thought we were maybe in the wrong place.
The interior is down a few steps from the storefront, opening into a mod looking bar with table seating on the left and a small bar on the right. The color scheme includes bright orange, red and lime green, and there are hanging globes, wood paneling and a disco ball. Brewing equipment is visible behind glass by some high tables.
Steinfels has 4 beers on tap, including a Christmas beer, Pils, Lager and Weizen. All are decent. A few bottled selections too.
Service on a slow afternoon was good. The staff was in process of decorating for the holidays but our server was attentive and patient given the language barrier.
We did not try any food on our visit.
Overall this place is a cool little spot off the beaten path.

In-house brews, German styles; avoid the winter beer unless you like a gullet full of anise.
