Short walk from Reuben’s area with a neat dichotomy between industrial and residential, nice shiny brewhouse and plenty of seating. Lots of seating outside and the weather was picking up so it wasn’t too full in the garage, but loads of people outside in the sun. 13 beers on when I went, $29 to try them all as sample pours of 5oz each. Most are $2 each, the bigger or sour things are $3, so prices are in line with most places. Worth a stop if nearby.
One of my mainstays on the Ballard brewery circuit, with its typically tasty and interesting beers and by virtue of being right around the corner from Reubens. Modern warehouse vibe, dark and metal. Beers are usually solid, and they’re getting over it seems their early addiction to overly bitter hoppy beers. Though that style is still their strong suit. Usually packed on nice day and weekends/holidays. But you can slip in for a quiet taste on most other afternoons. Often there are food trucks out front. Popular across the board, not just nerds here. Well worth a stop.
Visited on a Thursday night in November 2015. Another warehouse type place with brewing kit around. Plenty of room to sample the beers. Taster flight available which helps. Beer was pretty decent. Had a food truck out the front too. Worth a visit
Visited evening on Wednesday June 24, 2015. Very dog friendly, very. Nice enough place, god service. Stayed for three beers. Had a nice feel to it, could see myself going back. Walked over from Lucke Envelope and then walked after to Stoup, n the very walkable and brewery filled Ballard area.
A nice huge warehouse housing the brewery but well appointed and trendy. Lots of kids and dogs around. Service was self serve and decent. Lots of beer on tap, but there was nothing that exciting. Taster flight available along with food trucks.
Another warehouse/garage operation, bigger than the nearby Reuben; they have less beers on tap (7-8 usually), no snacks/pretzels, wifi available, food truck sometimes. Nice on a sunny afternoon, less funny on cold days. Nice music, not too loud (but the people are).
The fairly young Stoup Brewing, which started in October 2013, already makes some great beers and they open the brewery for visitors on certain days, allowing you to drink their beer fresh off tank. I visited during the World Cup final, so the place was packed. But I still found space at the bar and was treated to several excellent beers, in particular their Robust Porter made an impression on me. Good service too makes this a nice place to visit in an area with a growing number of breweries. Visited: 2014-07-13.
