100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20
This is the biggest home-brew store I have ever seen by a longshot. The selection is incredible. I have been shopping here since they were just a little hole-in-the-wall shop in downtown Marlborough. Over the years they have moved a few times, and their latest place is spectacular. Wall to wall brewing supplies. Self service grain room. You can always find the supplies you need. Even during the famous ’hop shortage’ their fridge was always full with every type of hop imaginable. Citra? Check. Mosaic? Check. Amarillo? Absolutely. Everything a discerning brewer could ever need, and if they don’t have it, they’ll get it for you asap. Special orders? No Problem. The helpful, friendly staff are always glad to whip up a quick clone recipe and even help trouble-shoot problem brews. And, if you time your visit right, you can even try one of their unique Strange Brew beers. Be sure to check out one of their ’brew days’ to sample some good beer, and good company. This store is so huge, I could just wander for hours checking out all the great brewing stuff. Can’t wait until they open their brewery so I can swing by for a liquid lunch break. Right on!

Mr. Shop owner. Can you please produce PROOF that you have filed lawsuits against everyone else that has "strange" and "brew...." in their name? If you have sued others, I would like to know your success rate.
A home brewer that will tell ALL his home brewing friends to avoid your business and to pass on how you treat others in the beer brewing business.

This is exactly the type of business anyone who loves craft beer needs to avoid. I have never been here, but it seems to be a small "homebrew" shop in Massachusetts selling Mr. Beer kits to brew sugar based light lagers. The owners of this store have recently launched a legal attack on Strange Brewing Company, a successful and awarded craft brewery in Denver, CO. They claim copyright violation (google "Strange brew" and see how many other places come up) and that it is creating customer confusion (I was looking for a crappy homebrew shop in MA to buy a Mr. Beer kit, how did I end up thousands of miles away in an awesome brewery?) The craft beer industry is about making good products and treating people properly. From what I can see this place does neither. I encourage anyone reading this to NEVER do business with the petty litigious people who run this so called business, and next time you’re in Denver stop buy the REAL Strange Brewing Company for some delicious award winning beers.

This homebrew supply shop has in most cases had everything I needed for making specific recipes. A time or two they didn’t have the particular yeast strain I was looking for, but I have always been able to find the malts I needed. Their prices seem to be a bit higher than other stores in Eastern MA. The employees are a great resource for homebrew knowledge. They have wine making supplies as well.

A few (several) years ago, back from a meeting at Viewlogic Systems bound to Massachusetts turnpike I went through this "strange" shop. They have everything is needed to home brew beer and some nice samples to taste. I recommend it to all beer-maniacs.

Located in a stripmall, well maybe not in the classic sense, on Rt 20 eastbound in Marlboro. Finally swung by to visit Brian. He’s got a ton of stuff packed into a small place, nothing fancy, a practical store. Brian is awesome, will talk shop with you and offer advice on homebrewing. Has everything you could need to brew. From kits to all grain you’ll find it here. Now I’m not a homebrewer, but I can’t imagine another store having more equipment. He even has 3 tap lines so you can sample some of his homebrew. Hell of a nice guy. I just felt bad that I don’t homebrew to help support him more.
