62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | October 29, 2011 On the grounds of a defunct factory that looks more like some sort of alien spaceship. That alone gives it extra pojnts for atmosphere. Inside, there are machine parts everywhere, including 4 taps made out of old valves. The beers are tasty enough, the food is good, and the service is prmpt, cheery and efficient. Worth a look. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Bierkrug (257) Idar-Oberstein (In Iraq), Germany | November 13, 2010 Hiding just behind Hooter’s it is not a bad place. Service while I was there was good. Food was also very nice. A good place to go and relax after shopping at the mall next door. | 44 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 9/20 SHIG (178) Anchorage, Alaska | May 13, 2010 Nice up scale brew pub. I drank downstairs at the bar, but upstairs is a nice restaurant. The beers they brew are on tap and very good for this region. Although I speak a bit of German I still had a hard time getting my order in. Worth a stop if your in town or a night cap after the Hooters next door. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Ruger988 (12) , Germany | February 7, 2010 Went around 2000 this Sunday night, service was OK, but pretty slow even by German standards, especially considering we were sitting at the bar. Tried a mug of each of their Dunkel, Hells, and Weisbier. All were good, none were great. Got a growler each of the Dunkel and Hells to take home with me for around 14,00 euro each (including the deposit.) I’ll go again if I’m in the area but I wouldn’t go too far out of my way to visit.
The grilled Turkey Steak was excellent. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 shrubber85 (176) Greenville, Indiana | September 25, 2009 Pretty easy to find - just look for the bizarre looking water tower (wasserturm - it looks like something out of Mad Max). Went there pretty early on a Friday. Service was good. The food was very good - pretty typical German fare - some wild game dishes were available. Interesting place to say the least - beer was pretty average. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 fiulijn (291) Malmö, Denmark | October 20, 2008 Very strange place indeed, just below the most strange watertower in the world inside it’s a mix of German style and American dining. They have 4 decent beers. We tried some dessert and it was quite poor. |
