If you like Lancaster Brewery, then this is the place for you. Five cask ales from Lancaster are complemented by five guest ales. You also have a couple of interesting keg and quite a few bottles to choose from. Not the greatest atmosphere - itís neither particularly stylish nor comfortable - but the beer choice and quality makes up for this.

A pub that you will certainly come across in a guide book as it is a noted place to drink in Lancaster with plenty of awards behind it. Itís a fairly small venue in comparison to other pubs in the area and you may very well have to stand up on a popular night here. The bar area is small too so it can be a little difficult to get served at these times too. When you do get to the bar there are a few cast ales available and a more eclectic range in bottles. The decor is soft furnishings amongst the brickwork of the small terrace row building in the city centre. Itís well known for its food which is expensive.

A fantastic pub at the right time, a packed and posy one at others. Their beer fridge is VERY good - superb range (for the area at least) of Belgian and German and USA beers with some obscure and aged gems if you can get to the bar and take the time to look, Draught beers always on fine form and in great condition. However staff are at best indifferent at worst downright ignorant which lets it down significantly.

A strang snob pub. Very expensive food aimed at an upper middle class or higher clientel. Huge belgian beer selection of bottles but overpriced. Usually has a Lancaster Brewery pump on but likes to put out beers uncommon to the rest of the city. The staff are a little arogant and have little time to talk to you. Most donít know much about the ales. On a slow day, it can be a great place but on a Satuday night, way too many people to make it fun.

Multi multi national award winning pub. Still remains one of the best venues out there.
