A bit hard to find... very blah interior, reminded me of a cheap local bar... beer is ok, nothing at all special, two decent beers, but overall average... atmosphere is boring... wouldnít head back here

My first stop after arriving in Phoenix. Sun Up is an interesting place, with a brepub located adjacent to their production facility. Brewpub has its own parking lot, as does the production brewery. Its not large, but was not crowded at lunchtime on Saturday either. Super friendly waitstaff. I sat at a table so I could break out the computer (free wifi is provided) and ordered a sample tray (you pick; four 6 oz samples). Beers ranged in quality. White Russian is god tier, the rest are naturally below that. All in all a good and relaxing experience. Did not try the food.

Smaller neighborhood brewpub kinda place. Comfortable. Some nice artwork inside and out. Enough choices on the food menu. Food was pretty good. Basics on tap. In addition there were 2 seasonals and a cask offering. Prices about the usual, if a little high. Beers were good. I would come back again. Update: I have been back a few times. Each time the tap list was bigger and more varied. They do a good job consistently offering something new and interesting.

Stopped in here with a buddy on a Friday afternoon shortly after opening. It was pretty slow. The inside has a lighter-colored lacquered wood interior. A round bar is in the center, with some tables around the room and a side room. The brewing operation is mostly in a separate building, from the looks of it. We didnít eat but there is a food menu. There were 9 taps, with 6 basics, 2 rotators, and a root beer. The basics couldnít be more...basic. Just so-so takes on the most basic styles. Only one seasonal was on while we were there, and it was also mediocre. The bartender was nice. Just a very average place all-around.

I enjoyed my visit. Food and service were good. As were all their beers they had on, which luckily I managed to try thanks to them doing half pints! Beers of several styles all good examples. I was amazed how good the cask conditioned beer was too, served chilled, not warm or freezing!

Great little brewpub. The food is killer southwestern - I had the chicken enchiladas verdes and it was better than anytthing similar that Iíve had. Quick walk from the light rail station down Camelback. Service was very friendly and helpful. About 8 beers of their own brewing. Didnít look at the bottles menu. Friendly bar, though small. Homey, small restaurant space. This is what brewpubs are all about. A recommended stop, especially if youíre in central Phoenix.

This used to be Sonoran Brewing and has the same quality. It is a nice place with really good pale ale and IPA. The barleywine is good too.

Visited 3/4/2011 for RBWG 2011.
The place is broken into 2 sections, actually 2 seperate buildings. We sat in the second one, called the Brewers Den. Nice looking place. It was fairly empty on a Friday afternoon.
The servers were kind of upset that so many people wanted samples and over all they werenít real friendly. When we all ordered food and a lot of people ended up getting pints they got nicer but were still sarcastic. Then they got upset again when we wanted to split tabs. Didnít leave much tip (if any), which couldnt have made them happy either. Itís one of those self fulfilling prophecies.
The food was good. I ordered a burger with blue cheese. Some of the beers were good. The standouts were the vanilla porter, the amber, and the IPA dryhopped with Amarillo hops.
If I was in the area and only with one or two other people Iíd stop back in for the food and to see whatís new on tap. But I wouldnt go back with a large group.

Brewpub in Phoenix/Scottsdale area. About 10 taps. Tried the ipa and porter, both were pretty good. Service at the bar was friendly. Seemed like mostly locals (and me). Didnít try the food. Worth stopping in to have a beer if you are nearby.

The place and interior looks a little tired, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer samplers of all their beers which is great. Food is good, but not great. Overall a nice place with good beer.

Always been one of my favs in the Phoenix metro. When I come, I mostly come during happy hour: discounted pints and discounted appetizers make the check a little less painful. I would opt for the seasonals instead of the standards, which tend to be a little on the generic side. The triple IPA is a personal favorite. Food is average to good. Big downside about this place is how small it is: tiny bar area and the main dining section does accommodate very many. Location is good though as itís walkable from the light rail and not too far from Downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale. Servers tend to know the beers well but the service overall can be spotty when they get busy.
