84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 SuIIy (53) Burlington, Vermont | April 13, 2012 Plenty of taps and a quality selection. Lots of size options for those wanting a good sampling. Prices seem on par with the area. Lots of local offerings which I find spectacular. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20 bmerz (118) Brooklyn, New York | February 28, 2012 Classic college bar with better beer. Typical and mediocre bar food. I went to BU. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 halfonit (68) Fall River, Massachusetts | January 11, 2012 Can’t believe I haven’t rated this yet! Parking isn’t the best, but that’s to be expected for Boston. Selection is pretty decent for beer, and the food is average. Service was pleasant and kept up with our needs. Even though this is cleaner than the original Sunset, I think that I’ll stick to driving out there for the selection. | 34 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 2/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 2/20 mkgrenwel (62) Cambridge, Massachusetts | November 15, 2011 Sunset Grill’s sister restaurant. The menu is technically different, but with lots of the same or very similar items, and the same overall feel. The decor is pretty much exactly the same. The place is in better shape, since it’s newer (with a brand new addition), but it’s probably a matter of time before it finds the same state of disrepair as the original. The beer is given the same lack of respect as the Grill, but there’s less of it. They do have a huge selection of tequilas, if you’re into that. Since it’s on BU’s campus, the clientele is even younger and less beer interested than the Grill, which also isn’t a good thing. I recommend you avoid the Grill, and this has less going for it than the Grill. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (56) Nueva York, New York | January 21, 2011 The little brother of Sunset Grille. Same kind of thing except for less of it. Much smaller selection than at the Grille and a beer person might find that he or she had either already had all the beers they have available on that day or that all the beers are mediocre at best. The food is all tex-mex and will likely make you quite sick. The ambiance is ok, with a whole lot of tacky decorations (which some of my friends hate, but I don’t mind). | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 13/20 jjhayesd (1) Brookline, Massachusetts | May 9, 2010 Rodenbach served in tulip that completely killed its head. Kind of expensive at 8 for 13oz. The shipyard notch session tasted like the line was dirty, which was too bad because I was interested in this beer. The chili was not quite warm enough and a little on the sweet side. Service was good at 2pm on a Sunday. Bar was comfortable and overall ambiance was okay but I’ve seen it full of BU kids and it’s way worse. Nice to have a bar with a decent selection close to my house but it’s hit or miss on if the beer will be enjoyable as served. | 68 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Glouglouburp (361) Montreal, Quebec | January 17, 2010 A short bike ride (medium about 20 minutes walk) from the mother place Sunset Grill. A smaller version of Sunset Grill. Similar in spirit, style, food and everything. Just smaller. “only” about 40 taps with a limited bottle list. Despite the “limited” tap-list I found that the beer were carefully selected. Very few big beer but still a few nice brews that you cannot find everywhere. Food menu is similar to Sunset Grill. Affordable varied greasy pub food. Full kitchen until 1am (nice!). Décor is a bit similar to Sunset Grill but with more fluorescent signs and also with louder pop music. On the plus side there is a very small patio in the front (something Sunset Grill doesn’t have) but it fits only 12 people or so. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 thornecb (54) Marblehead, Massachusetts | June 25, 2009 Very convenient to the Paradise and BU arena if you are in-town for a show or game. Large bar and plenty of seating. Rather random placement of the waiter/ess station makes getting to the head a confusing adventure. Table service is usually fast, but you may have to wait a while at the bar to get the bartender’s attention. While not as extensive a selection as the Sunset Grille down the street, the Cantina still has 35+ taps and many bottles available. There is usually at least one rare beer on-tap at any given time. Food is standard pub fare - they steam their burgers if you are interested in trying something a little different. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Beese (50) Watford, England | July 4, 2008| Updated September 5, 2008 Quite a cool place to try some beers, they definitely have an extensive list with some nice choices, there was more than enough to tide me over. Some nice decor on the walls, although more of a ’not-so-fancy’ restaurant vibe to it than a bar one. The service was acceptable, not very fast, but I just learned to order my beers in advance. You can buy a selection of four taster glasses (I think they were 8oz), which I liked as it meant I could try far more beers. Worth going to even though it is a bit out of the way. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 AMN (10) Dublin, Pennsylvania | September 28, 2007| Updated September 5, 2008 When it’s not too crowded, this is a good choice to bring out-of-town visitors. The food is fairly priced and the portions are filling. Sometimes the service is slow, but no worse than other restaurants. Contrary to previous reviewers, I usually get the proper glassware. |
