I wandered past this store while exploring the Mile End to see what was available. Was happy to find a good range of Charlevoix beers. The owner was friendly but not craft beer oriented. Funny, there was a depanneur up the street that advertised Biere de Artisanale and I thought the prices were better there and the selection was about the same. But, if you’re wandering around the Mile End and want to tap into some Quebecois craft beer, this will certainly do.

Be careful with what you buy here. Some bottles can be okay, but some have been there for years and are not stored in ideal temperatures - the place was a steam bath when I went in. And they had a DdC brown ale for sale from 2008! Probably okay to buy bigger beers from here, but I’d advise against APAs/IPAs and the like.

2 sips away from ddc;so the owner might not know much about beer, put this is the best service i have received in any montreal beer store(any store) this summer. i like that most of the craft beers are NOT in the fridge.only negative is most of the 750 ml beers are on the ground floor...much bending to do.

Smallish beer store with really cramped isles and lots of bottles. They have some really old stuff for sale if you’re looking for anniversary edition unibroues for example, or a little history of Quebec micro brewing. Its strong point is that it is located next to Dieu du Ciel, which probably figures on anybody’s Montreal visit list. Not a bad place to stock up, but you need to check dates.

Great selection of local brewers but a bit overpriced. Can find some pretty old/hard to find stuff. The place looks like it haven’t been clean since a while. Combined to this impression, the freshness of their products is questionnable. Service is relax and friendly. Two steps from the Dieu du Ciel.

I searched for a place like this for a couple of years. Found Rahman 5-6 years ago and stopped searching. I suppose other places like this have spawned everywhere but, this is still the place to go. This place doesn’t look good. There is nothing fancy here. There is a lot of beers here at the cheapest price in town. It’s easy to compare on "normal" stuff, harder on other stuff (hard to find). I bought all their stock on "Schoune Gueuze" 2 years ago (7 bottles) and have yet to see those anywhere else. I go there 3-4 times/year just to fill up the beer fridge. Lighter beers in spring/summer, darker/heavier beers in autumn/winter. I buy "normal" beers (like Boreale) at the grocery store occasionnally. But Rahman has those "normal" beers at a cheaper price than everyone in town. Can’t understand why other people’s comments say things like "high prices". The prices are very low (but a 750 ml Gueuze will still be around 10 $, which can be intimitating for the non-connaisseur). "they don’t speak french", that might be tru. I haven’t tried speaking french there. When i go into that part of town, i don’t expect to be spoken to in french. The address is "151 Laurier West", it’s on the small part of Laurier between St-Laurent and the Mont Royal. Everyone speaks english in every shop on that street, it’s normal. I feel they do their best to offer a variety of beers to every customer at a very reasonnable price.

I was disappointed going into this place. Nice hot day and the store was hotter than outside. Storing beer in a hot area isn’t a good idea. They had a lot of older stuff that you can’t find at other deps but you also pay for it. I found they were significantly higher prices than other stores in Montreal. Selection is good with most Quebec micros and most seasonals.
