Wow. I visited Superstar after going to Big Z, and its absolutely night and day. Where Big Z is dark dank, empty, depressing and uninviting, Superstar is nicely lit, clean, has an awesome selection and has an awesome staff. Their growler section has a decent variety (scored (2) 32ozíers of Founders Backwoods Bastard). Spent some time talking shop with one of the staff and he was extremely friendly and helpful. The prices are right and they occasionally release some rare bottles from their cellar. looking forward to returning.

Decent place. Decent selection. Nothing amazing or very unusual, though I found a couple bottles of KBS there. Prices a little on the high side. Nice with the draft samples. One guy there knew a lot a bout beer, seemed to actually like the stuff a lot. Long Island is in desperate need of a real good beer store.

Kind of a disappointment. After seeing what had been said in reviews I had hoped for more. Not that it is a bad store, but obviously the 2 top ratings are either by employees or friends/family. Itís a worthwhile stop nonetheless, as they do have an excellent selection. Prices seemed a bit out of wack with Shoreline & Big Z which are just minutes away. They did have some tough to find beers though. Decent, if not pedestrian growler station. They did have 3 Avery beers on tap for some reason. If this is where you are, you will find something you like, but Iíll be skipping this one for the other guys.

Last time I was at Superstar was over 2 years and after walking in there today, it definitely seemed like a completely different store than what I had remembered. Very impressive selection of microbrews. They have a growler station with 4 taps(currently Sixpoint Hop Obama, Blue Point Rye Spring Fling, Magic Hat(?) and Stone Smoked Porter). Great service. Was talking with Neil who is one of the owners. He was extremely friendly and helpful and also definitely seems to be interested in upgrading the quality of the store even further. Decent selection of imports but the strong point of this store is their quantity and quality of their microbrews. Definitely will be back here again sometime soon.

I find myself comming back to this place time and time again. They have a great selection of micro and improts that gets better every week, with new arrivals often. The people there are knowledgable, love to talk beer, and always let me know whats new. the growler station always has something for me. This place is great and keeps getting better!

Its a good place, a bit cramped and dirty, too cold in the wintertime. The service is good, the people like to talk to you. The selection is 3rd best on the island i would say. Prices are about a buck more. The growler station has a decent selection. However there is nothing in there that you wont find in the other better beer stores on the Island.

I donít know. Somehow reading these other ratings I feel that I visited a different place. Upon leaving, and not buying anything, I rechecked the name just to make sure. In general it seemed like it was rows and rows of junk beer with a little special section in the back. Really, however, there was nothing that made me feel like I had to get it now or it would be forever lost to time. I would say pass in favor of several other places on Long Island, but I may have just caught them on an off day.

I started visiting this beverage store for itís growler station after my friendís business started up nearby a few months ago. It has that welcoming spirit to it and the guys working there are both helpful and friendly. The selection is good and it seems to me the place changes around its floor space to highlight new items. I make a point of going here when I am in the area.

High ceilings, well lit, and extremely friendly/helpful service. They sell loose bottles from 6-packs, their selection is thorough, but not very extensive, they have not only craft, but they have a good third-world lager selection (for those interested in new countries) I found the Cyprus Pale Lager called KEO. Overall the selection is decent, fairly priced, and thereís very friendly service. If I lived on Long Island I would be a regular here.

This has quickly become my go-to place for beer on the island - they carry virtually everything one can get in the area, and if they donít have it, they are more than happy to try to get it for you - the guy that runs the place really knows, and more importantly, loves his beer, and will talk about it with whomever is willing (and boy am I willing) - the growler system is an added bonus, but the beers donít seem to rotate very fast - their import selection (the belgians in particular) isnít nearly as impressive as it is in (*cough, cough*), but is still quite extensive - it doesnít rival the stores in Brooklyn and Manhattan, but on Long Island thatís pretty much impossible, so if youíre a local, this place is great - the selection, and the friendliness of the staff, make this a very welcome alternative to (*cough, cough*).
