Multiple visits. Beautiful facility, from the downstairs Beer Hall to the upstairs Brewer’s Table and event space to the outside beer garden. Generally packed, even at seemingly off-hours, full of impressed and happy customers. Highly staffed, but the staff by necessity can’t spend much time on any given customer. They aren’t particularly friendly to those who sit down at the Beer Hall tables without informing the hostess. But service is very fast. You can’t ask for much better beer at a brewery. There is a total of 120 taps across the facility, and usually at least 20 unique beers are on tap at the Beer Hall, with a few additional beers available upstairs at the "finer dining" Brewer’s Table restaurant. Surly is truly a world-class brewery, and some of its best beers barely make it out of the brewery (some recent examples include Hop Shifter 2 and Lager 1 / Pilsner 1). The food is absolutely top notch, the best I’ve ever had at a brewery or brewpub by far. The level of sophistication and creativity of the food is astounding. In fact, Surly Beer Hall is one of the best casual restaurants in Minnesota based on food alone, and The Brewer’s Table takes the level of food a notch or two even higher. The prices are standard and reasonable, and you’re often paying less per ounce than you would by the bottle at a liquor store for some of the more expensive releases. Overall, Surly is on a different level from any other brewery in the Upper Midwest in terms of the quality of its beer and the quality of its taproom experience, and few other breweries in the world in fact come close. Surly is my top recommendation for out-of-towners visiting the Twin Cities, even those who aren’t particularly into beer.

Stopped here the other day to take the tour. Very nice new facility. I like the ambiance of an open beer hall, which they have set up here. Big windows open up on the brewing area. I only had an appetizer, but it was excellent, and the rest of the menu looks good too. Both the Scottish and Darkness I had were excellent. Informative tour, and a large gift shop.

Pretty impressive place. I don’t love the atmosphere at the new tap room, it gets a bit loud and full with the open beer-hall-style. But everything else is excellent - delicious food, top-knotch service and a great lineup of taps. Will be back again.

I missed a connection flying thrugh MSP and took advantage of that fiasco to visit Surly. Boy, am I glad I did. The facility is large, modern and beautiful. The beers were outstanding and the smoked pork and brussels sprouts were phenomenal. The only negative - no small pours.

Great place. Two levels with a patio out back. I was not able check out the second floor due to a private event. The first floor is fairly large with tables and benches for seating. There is also a gift shop. The server was very friendly and made several recommendations on food and beer. She also noted which taps which fairly rare. The food was very good and the beer was excellent. I will definitely be coming back.

Huge, open industrial-like feeling. Plenty of seating. This place is f*cking massive. I m thinking that before football games, especially when the new stadium opens, this place is going to be a cluster of all clusters. It’s really close to the rail, which makes it easy. Anyways, the place wasn’t too busy when we went, which was great. The service was prompt. The selection was pretty awesome - quite a few variants that I’d never seen. The food, while good, wasn’t exceptional, in my opinion. I think it could be a little better, but that is just my opinion. The food was filling, and quite spicy, which was nice, but again, wasn’t to the point where I’d want to dine there again, unless I was quite hungry. With that, I did appreciate the gift shop, to an extent. They sell some cool glassware, but then some stupid shit, like hats partially made out of cans. The one wish, and I know this is everyone’s wish, is that the laws allowed them to fill growlers. In Washington, a brewery can do so, but I guess the volume of beer they make on premises prevents them from doing so? Bummer, but not their fault. I was making a comment for information purposes. Overall, awesome staff, location, beers, space, with mediocre food. Great place to visit, and I will be back, again, and again, and again.

Kind of industrial but fits the local and the crowds this place draws. About 20 brews on tap and the food in the tap room was surprisingly good. Worth the trip.
