84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | December 15, 2012 Fantastic selection, mainly local stuff plus Colorado and Montana. Friendly and helpful staff. Free beer tasting going on. What’s not to like? | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 phaleslu (314) Cincinnati, Ohio | November 28, 2012 Stopped in here for a mixed six pack. Located in a strip mall on a busy corner just south of downtown. Friendly staff. I wish I weren’t unemployed and on a strict travel budget right now because prices were obscenely low on some stuff. Odell 750s were a good $6+ cheaper than at the cheapest stores back home, for one example. Not a massive selection but really solid and plentiful. Stuff on shelves that would be waiting list only back home. Sheesh. Seems to be the place for beer bottles in Santa Fe. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Beershine (595) The Sunshine State, Florida | December 2, 2011 Super store. So good, Josh did not tell me about it because he was afraid I would buy too many things. They have a lot of beer and the service is very good too. | 66 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (612) Savusavu, Fiji Islands | October 29, 2011 The best store in town. They have a decent range, but not spectacular because distribution in NM is a little bit crappy compared with neighbouring states. A good place to track down seasonals that have sold out of more beery areas. Service is decent. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 DiarmaidBHK (523) Pennsylvania | October 27, 2011 Solid beer store with over 350 different kinds of beer. As the name of the store indicates wine and liquor are the things here with the beer being consigned to the back. They had everything in coolers with a nice selection of local and regional craft beers. They also had 7-8 different Mikellers and 7-8 Nogne complementing as others have noted a fairly standard Belgian selection. I like the vibe of the store it’s serious and slightly upscale and a better experience then buying liquor at the local CVS. The biggest minus was their cooler of pick six beers. It’s easily one of the 5 worst I’ve ever seen. Most of the case was empty. They should either not do it or properly stock it. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 LilBeerDoctor (208) Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | July 18, 2011| Updated August 2, 2011 A great beer store in Santa Fe. Dominated by the wine, but in the back are several fridges filled with beer. Definitely a good selection for NM - they have a fair amount of international beers (esp. Mikkeller, Nogne, also some Epic, Struise, and the standard German and Belgian selections). Of US beers, mostly western stuff (Full Sail, Deschutes, Odell, Moylans, Left Hand, Stone, Sierra Nevada, Avery, New Belgium) and smaller production locals (Marble, Nimbus, Big Sky, Santa Fe, Ska). Of the Odell and Deschutes varieties they had several of their limited bombers, unlike other places in the area. Prices seemed comparable for the area, perhaps slightly cheaper. The place in Santa Fe to buy beer. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 BristleCone (1) New Mexico | May 23, 2011| Updated August 2, 2011 Susan has been working with wines for oh so many years. She has an excellent selection of wines and a great tasting every Friday. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 Rockcrawler (14) Santa Fe, New Mexico | April 3, 2010| Updated April 6, 2012 A chill liquor stock stocking the widest variety of good brews you will find in Santa Fe. The beer guys over there is very knowledgeable and good at directing people towards something they will like. The selection is not huge by any standards but everything they have is solid. Also has an amazing selection of fine wines at reasonable prices not to mention a truly specialty liquor selection. Best liquor store in town if your lookin for the good or rare stuff. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 notalush (279) Denver, Colorado | April 3, 2010| Updated April 6, 2012 [Please note that the address for this place has changed - I was not able to find the new address on the internet, so they must have moved very recently - they are across the street from their former address, in a shopping center on the southeast corner of Cerillos and St. Francis] - this was quite a nice store - small, cute wine shop, with a handful of coolers stocked with a well-chosen selection of area microbrews - they had a few breweries from New Mexico and Arizona that I can’t get in CO (Marble, Nimbus, etc.), plus some of the Big Sky limited release beers (which I also can’t get in CO) for about 8.99 a 750 - a few notable belgian and scandinavian imports as well - staff was friendly - they were playing indie rock on the stereo - nice - anyway, the selection isn’t as vast as liquor barn, but the store is much, much nicer. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 wavers1 (40) Notown, California | May 23, 2009| Updated April 6, 2012 this place is amzing! finally in santa fe! the most helpful liquor store i’ve ever been to period! susan was familiar and helped my girl find several gluten free beers. she spent time with us and didn’t make us feel rushed , and wqs one of the most knowledgeable beer people ive ever met, stop by and let her drop some knowledge on you! not the hugest selection ever, but tons of great stuff to choose from, no filler like other places. only interesting stuff worth drinking. |
