Juste à coté du William Morris et des dizaines de magasins d’Hammersmith. Magnifique pub, tout en élégance avec une ambiance assez sobre malgré tout. La sélection est classique pub anglais. Le principal attrait c’est la déco.

Spacious, old fashioned. Decent cask selection, not cheap. Nice and close to the Hammy O for gigs.

A very attractive Nicholson’s pub at the end of King Street and close to both tube stations. It exudes understated Edwardian elegance, with lots of polished wood, flocked wallpaper and a glassed in shelf over the bar containing beer books which the staff are happy to lend to any customers wanting some reading material. There are plaques to William Morris and other local luminaries upstairs on the way to a second bar and restaurant. They have ten hand pumps with a reasonable selection of regulars and guest beers. When I chose the Truman’s Runner the barman told me he’d recently been to the new Truman’s brewery to try all their beers. He said they were too hoppy at first but they’ve adjusted their recipes and all are very good now. He seemed to think I was mad when I said I didn’t think there was such a thing as a beer that was too hoppy! (Visited 6 August 2014).

Very handy location, just across the street of both Hammersmith tube stations. Visited shortly before closing time. Had St. Austell Nicholsons Porter, which was less than impressive, but a few more ticks had been available for me, if I had come earlier.

A sympathetically restored grand Victorian pub, conveniently close to the Hammersmith Underground Stations and with a good range of well kept ales - this place has certainly improved a lot since my days as a student.

I first went into this place when it was known as Edwards Bar and was not much to shout about, although lively weekend entertainment could be had. It was refurbished at the end of the 2000’s by Nicholson’s who have made this place pretty, convivial and with a better ale selection than the Wetherspoon next door.

Visited on Saturday 15/06/13 - twice in between rain showers at Queens! Grand old Victoriana boozer sympathetically restored with bars and seating both down and upstairs linked by a grand staircase with access from both sides. Place was pretty quiet on my first visit around 2pm, but the place had really filled out by visit no.2 at 4.30pm and we bagged the last table downstairs. 10 cask beers from a range of micros that you see dotted about town, Wharfebank, Adnams, Ilkely, Butcombe and Rudgate were all represented. As Jack touched on in his review, condition of a couple I tried were not tip top, others were fine. I’d never been in here before today - I think it used to be a real shit hole pre - refurb. In between the 2 tube stations literally 2 minutes from either. I’d definately hit this place over any of the others in central Hammersmith.

Pretty grand looking Nicholson’s pub located right outside Hammersmith station. Nicely refurbished classic interior. The selection’s actually pretty strong here. There’s 10 beers on cask plus a few other options available on keg. The beer quality was merely OK. The prices are a bit high, but not completely absurd (£3.80 for a 4% beer). Overall, this is a good option if you’re headed to the Hammersmith Apollo or happen to be in the area.
