68 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 2/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 Elwood (97) Leesburg, Virginia | February 24, 2010 You really have to grade this for what it is: an airport bar. There is a limited selection but at least Sweetwater makes decent beers. I was fortunate enough to have the Happy Ending available when I stopped by. The food is entirely forgettable so skip it and have an extra pint instead. Yeah, you are gonna pay a little more for that big glass of brew but it’s better than anything else they have in the airport. Happy flying! | 54 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (412) Ottawa, Ontario | January 25, 2010 Run of the mill airport brewhouse. Four offerings available when I went with macro swill. Beers are expensive (as expected), they will give you small sampler in plastic sauce cups (wow!). Food was rather boring (chili dogs with fries, served in plastic plate and plastic cuttlery)...not very classy. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 crizay (128) Brook Park , Ohio | January 7, 2010 Nice spot for an airport. Pretty small but decent sized bar and probably enough seating. Good beer selection they had 6 beers on and all were really good. Had a fish sandwich and my g/f had a crab cake sandwich and both were good. Great way for us to kill our 3 hour layover ecspecially with the very easy subway system. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 3/10 OVERALL 13/20 drowland (142) Jacksonville, Florida | November 8, 2009 Went here twice recently because of layovers in Atlanta.
The ambiance is fine. Bright, cheery, decked out with Sweetwater stuff. Pretty packed into a small space, but hey - it’s an airport.
The service was pretty good. Because I was alone and the place was packed, I got put at the bar both times I visited, and the bartenders were attentive, quick, and had minor knowledge of the brews available.
The selection is to be expected. 3-5 Sweetwater beers and about 3 others: Sam Adams, Miller Lite, Bud Light.
The food was good, but nothing special. First time I tried the hummus. I’m pretty sure it was basically store bought and served to me straight out of the container. The second time I had a cheeseburger and it was fine.
The value is terrible, of course, because it’s an airport. 2 beers and a burger cost me about 25 bucks.
Overall, it’s probably one of the better places to go if you’re in the airport and have some time to kill, but not enough time to go visit the actual place. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 radagast83 (103) Fairfax, Virginia | August 22, 2009 I happened across this while waiting for connecting flight (and then a week later on the return flight). Was pretty packed but got a table immediately both times I went. Menu was surprisingly better than I expected. Food even moreso. Beer came in 20 oz glasses which was another surprise. Food arrived quickly. No serious complaints. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 jolomo (12) Atlanta, Georgia | July 17, 2009 Great addition to the airport. I would pick N/A for Ambience but they do the best you can in an airport probably. They usually have all the Sweetwater beers available at a good price. It’s near gate B-10 | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 beer4mencc1701 (15) Irving, Texas | June 30, 2009 Located at the Atlanta-Hartsfield Airport (ATL). Taking into account the usual beer & food available at most airports, this place is a welcome breath of fresh air. SweetWater beers are featured on draft of course, with other beers in bottles. The wait staff was attentive (they know you have a flight to catch) & the menu was very decent, featuring typical pub fare. All was served fresh & hot & tasty (especially for an airport bar). Drop in if you are passing through ATL--it’s the rare airport bar that features honest craft beer (which happens to be local & high quality). |
