I used to like this place very much, but in the last months the selection is poorer, and the rotation as well. There are few highlights, but if you are new to Swedish beers you must go: there are a few interesting beers (I add Thomas Hardy; Nils Oscar barley Wine & Imperial Stout; Slottskällans Imperial Stout; Aecht S. Rauchbier Märzen; Rochefort 8 and 10...) and one very interesting cider (Etienne Dupont Cidre Bouché Brut de Normandie).

I have little idea how to rate such a place. Ambiance is nil. Service means someone ringing up your beers. they had a surprisingly nice selection, though. Not as many Swedish micros as I hoped for, but there were several, and pretty good spread of imports as well. If you are visiting from CHP as we were, worth a stop just to experience the world of Swedish government bullsh*t. Bought a couple beers as well, of course, including a Carnegie Porter, which I have been wanting to try since first reading M.J.

Good selection of Systembolaget rarities, like Stone, Avery, Shipyard... Good prices. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the best selections of all the shops in Sweden. But a lot of shelves were empty when I visited. Local beers from Malmö Brygghus and South Plains.

Right in the center. Quite a nice selection with a lot of new arrivals that week. It was actually hard to pick the bottles since I was limited by how much I could fit in y bag. Selection ranging from American to Danish imports. Sadly some of the beers from Malmö’s best Brekeriet were not in stock. Not much in terms of atmosphere or service, typical government store. Value s always great. Just by comparing it to a bar, bottles will usual run 2x cheaper.

Missed rating this one for some reason... A big Systembolaget inside a big mall that I visited on 20.9. with a bunch of friends on our first night in Malmö I think. Great. A very good choice with a shelf that seemed dedicated to new beers and specials, including what were probably the most interesting finds - the beers from the new Malmö Bygghus (unfortunately a bit too unwieldy and expensive so I skipped them). Decided to go for the Mohawk Summer IPA (very good), Mohawk Barleywine (great!) and S:t Eriks Pompona Porter (interesting but just ok) and some other stuff while my friends went wild in the cider and cheep beer department picking a heap of random stuff up (which netted me a bunch of rates and some interesting experiences ("cactus cider" really?) so cheers to them! There was Karlovačko available, which we all thought was amusing. The prices are very good for Sweden, especially compared to pubs so nothing to complain about there. The central location, wide selection and the prices make this a must stop for anyone interested in beer travelling through Malmö.

The selection obviously focuses heavily on Swedish beers with a mix of micro and macro. The shelf reserved for beers that change regularly was almost looted at my visit, but the standard selection holds some interesting local and foreign beer, making it worth the look around, when I came to pick up my order from their webshop. The staff was nice and helpful in collectiong my order, but it took almost an hour to buy approx. 120 beers, which is much too slow. Even though I had allowed for more than the required eight working days in processing the order, some of the most interestting beers were missing, but that falls back on the web shop rather than the store.
I have tried the highest rated Systembolags in Malmö, Göteborg and Stockholm, and apart from a little local variation, they are pretty much the same. They are not very inspiring, but they are your only chance of leaving Sweden with even somewhat interesting bottles.

I’ve been to a few Systembolaget stores in Sweden and I have to say that this one is simply the best The selection of beers from Scandinavia and the rest of the world is truly amazing. The prices are special too. I can buy English beers here for less than I would pay in the UK! Systembolaget rules! Especially this one :-)
