Pretty close to centre as is pretty much everything in Antwerp, not a real beer geek bar but one with an interesting selection never the less, more of better local bar, about 300 or so beer, rotating Struise on tap as well as lambic which is nice, nice selection of Struise, nothing really rare but some nice things never the less, some sours, handful of slightly rarer beers plus Armand’Spirit which I haven’t come across anywhere else, half a dozen descent whiskey, no food save for some snacks, not bad interior. /// Increased the score – after Kulminator – this place & Gollem have probably the best selection in Antwerp. Usually quite crowded but that is because this place is popular & nothing else. Nice service, they let me open me here some bottles here. Some lambic’s etc. /////// Updating the score a bit, selection is now solid BE fare with some lambic’s, nothing particularly rare or esoteric but very solid beers never the less. Selection is prob. second best in Antwerp after Kulminator. Rotating Struise on tap & Rodenbach Foederbier. More recently some USA-style EU craft has been popping up here, some neat bottles, not a large or esoteric selection but very solid additions never the less & it is bound to improve and be the best as far as that goes in Antwerp. Kraddel from RB now work here, he is great guy, very solid service, recommendation etc. You cannot go wrong there. Food is still pub snacks.////////// The thing that I like most about this place still is the fact that this feels like a 100 % Belgian “Bruine Kroeg” bar with a very nice beer list. This is something that is lost a bit too often in my opinion with extended beers list in Belgium & with highly rated bars being overrun by tourists. This place does really deserve its #2 spot in Antwerp whilst Oud Arsenaal does not deserve its rating. That is a “Bruine Kroeg” in a terrible way whilst this place is a shining example. Feel free to compare.

Visisted on 26/09/13.
Decent selection of Belgian goodies with a dozen or so on tap and a few hundred bottles including a decent amount of Struise - although none of the rarities.
The place was pretty quiet for 2100 on a Thursday, one friendly local couple and their dog who I got chatting to at the bar, plus a few other blokes.
Service was fine, Kraddel manning at the - although he was far from stretched on this occasion. At least with him behind the bar you’ll have someone to hook you up with something good if you want reccomendations.
I had Rodenbach Foederbier on cask which was a result!
Handy as a calling point prior to hitting Kulminator which is a 5 or 6 minute walk away.
Worth the visit.

Nice place. Good selection and a good new addition to the Antwerp scene. Interesting stuff on tap and a good selection of familiar and more unusual bottles. Will definitely go back. Liked the tap in the toilet.

Dug this place. Kulminator was closed, so we went here and almost forgot about the former. Great selection, lots of interesting stuff including Rodenbach Foederbier! Tons of Struise, though that was more expensive than other beers. Overall reasonable and pleasant and we had a great time drinking lots of good beers.

Pretty small pub in central Antwerpen with an impressivebottle list including lambics. The bartender (the proprietor?) was really helpful and we walked away with a case of Westy 12.

Small, cosy bar in a pedestrian street next to the Grote Markt. Outdoor seating so you can watch other tourists. As earlier ratings states, customers are a mixture between locals and tourists. I counted 11 taps, streching from Jupiler to Struise. Very nice staff. Did not check the bottles but the bar clams to have 200 bottled Belgian beers, which should satisfy most. Bar snacks are available. Nice place to stop by, when visiting Antwerpen.

Visited during RBESG 2013 Antwerp pub crawl
Nice small bar in the centre, cosy feeling and with quite an interesting mix of locals and tourists. Beer selection is rather nice, with some great bottled lambics (at a hefty price though) and a more than decent draught selection (including a few flat lambics).

This nice little bar in a cobbled pedestrian street just off the Grote Markt has a traditional local feel and indeed there were several locals there; but with ten taps and its proclamation of “more than 200 Belgian beers” (in English) over the door it inevitably draws in beer tourists too. Had I known that the pair who elbowed me out of the way in their eagerness to be served were English beer tourists like me I’d have had something to say but, alas, realisation came too late.
It’s quite dark inside but there’s an array of sparkling glasses behind the bar and hops on the ceiling. I sat at one of the tables outside sipping my draught Giradin lambic kriek (delicious!), listening to the tinkling of bells from the cathedral and wondering how “’Allo ‘Allo”, which was on at the theatre café next door, translates into Flemish / Dutch.
