One of the first places I visited after my arrival in Antwerp. Looks like it’s located in the middle of a very touristy area, but not many tourists here (especially indoors), which is nice. Always one Struise on tap, although for quite a high price (this time Tjeeses Reserva). In my opinion, the atmosphere here is nice and peaceful. The service was very friendly. The selection was better than most other places in Antwerp, but not mindblowing. I will definitely go here again, especially because I heard rumours Black Albert would visit the tap soon.

In my view, Antwerp now has two world-class beer specialist cafés: the one that starts with a K, and this one. Narrow bar with a few tables out front, a handful of interesting drafts among 11 taps, and a well-chosen list of 240+ bottles. Simple snacks like cheese and sausage. Friendly folks who know their stuff. Girardin draft lambic, plus a fine selection of lambics in bottles. Taps on my visit included Saison Dupont Dry-Hopping, St. Bernardus Tokyo, and a rotating Struise beer. Handy location near the Cathedral and other action. Dried hops, tasteful lighting, and breweriana.

Small and cozy bar close to Witte Arend. Well chosen selection. Some vintages De Cam and other geuzes. Had a very fresh Chouffe Houblon from tap. Waitress spoke English. One of the better in Antwerp I think.

Really a cool atmosphere with hops hanging from the ceiling. Great beer selection, though don’t expect to find anything "rare" lambics or other whales here. No tourists (bonus!) during my visit. Worth a visit if you’re in Antwerpen.

Very cosy interior and outdoor seating area. Competent service. Their taps included one lambic and a Struise. The bottle menu had the usual trappists along with a nice selection of lambic and Struise amongst others. A quiet and enjoyable place.

A good beer bar in a very central location right by the main squares. A good selection of Belgian beers including some interesting Struise’s and a fridge full of Lambics. Definitely the best place in Antwerp to go on a Sunday (when Kulminator is closed)

Very good beer bar when you are in the unfortunate situation that Kulminator closes. They have a really nice selection of both tap and bottled beers. Definitely worth a visit.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Quite a small place but in a good central location. Good variety of beers. Value is ok. Would like to visit again in the evening to see how the vibe is.

Hit this place twice during our last trip to Antwerp (Dec 2010), snow, cold and the Christmas Market forced us to take refuge in this fairly new bar.
All the tables are supplied by ’Malheur’ by the advertising design of the tops, all blue and orange (with Malheur written on them). As already stated, long and thin bar. At the rear it opens out a little and the large glass fronted fridges display the bottle selection nicely. Smokey and friendly, a local Bagpipe player dressed as a Highlander had also come in from the weather on our second visit and would occasionally burst into a half reconisable tune, all very strange, yet Christmassy and somehow apt at the time.
St Bernadus Christmas was on tap and was in wonderful condition, the wife choose the on tap Kwak plus others as I stayed with the first choice on both visits.
A good, proper beer bar, not pretentious in any way, yet another reason to visit Antwerp for beer and its bars.
