Went here on a saturday afternoon, hours before Carnaval was about to take over the entire city. We went in around 1PM, bar completely empty. All taps were replaced by pilsners. Fridges were still filled with bottles from their regular beer list though. So we asked if we could drink a beer that wasnít a pilsner and leave again, but the only thing she wanted to give us was a pilsner. Too bad. Not smart and not friendly. Probably wonít go back, since the Cafe Frape is only 20 metres away.
Longstanding beer cafe just off Servaas Bridge and the Maas. Great position and a worthy reputation but I would have expected by now it would have got the new Dutch beer thing. If I was stranded here for a week I would complain but not too loudly.
Nicely located on the edge of the centre, close to the river Maas. Twelve beers on tap is not bad but when I was there they were all from Gulpener. Not being a bad thing but not very interesting as well. Except... Mestreechs Ajt on tap. Wow! Very great beer. A pity the waiter almost advised me not to take this sour beer :(
Nice place with small but quite well chosen selection. I visited the place three times during my stay in Maastricht. Not a place for someone with long ticking history of Belgian and Dutch beers but if you want to have some nice brews while enjoying the nice patio then this is the place in Maastricht. I didnít try the proper food. Their cheese plate was nice.
