76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 dutchbeerpages (53) Wilnis, Netherlands | September 6, 2009 Beautifully located on the banks of the Maas river, right across from the bridge to and from the railway station. If it’s a nice day you can sit outside and look out over the water. Inside the woodwork is beautiful. My favorite thing were the small barrels above the bar.
Selection is good as well, and they have the ABT beer of the month and some local ones.
They also give you a small dish of peanuts, something a lot of bars in Limburg seem to do. | 76 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Borresteijn (141) Amsterdam, Netherlands | November 28, 2008 Visited in the early afternoon. I immediately felt at home here. Very nice bar with a warm atmosphere, brown pub like but a bit lighter. Nice classy interior, beautiful bar with kegs arranged near the ceiling, showing what’s on tap, and tables arranged next to the walls. Not a large selection of bottles, but some rarities and mostly quality beers, all served in the proper glassware. Will definitely re-vistit next time in Maastricht. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 RoyceH (32) Hesperange, Luxembourg | April 26, 2008 Reasonable selection right next to the river, with a lovely view especially at sunset. Some good belgians and some reasonably undiscovered beers on tap. Bartenders are very pleasant and only a little fussy | 72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 14/20 JoeinEscazú (268) San Jose, Costa Rica | November 12, 2007 Warm, convivial, brown-pub atmosphere, friendly barman, interesting choices among taps and bottles not a terribly long list, but quality. Didn’t try the vlaai. I liked the fact that there were some interesting Dutch beers as well as Belgian. One of the only places you can find the Double Saison. Recommended. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 12/20 imdownthepub (303) Banbury, England | August 11, 2007 Small but crowded cafe with a reasonable choice and a pleasant aspect. Food is decent and the service quite good. Worth a visit if closeby. | 62 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 11/20 ha1ag (5) Maastricht, Netherlands | January 23, 2006| Updated April 23, 2008 Nice cafe close the river and the Servaas-bridge. The bartenders are nice but not beerexperts. Prices are OK, but beermenues are not very special.
Standard Belgian beers on menue. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Hunsell (43) Amsterdam, Netherlands | April 18, 2005| Updated April 23, 2008 Small café near the river Maas in a very old townhouse. Atmosphere is very cosy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beerselection is OK, some local specialities (Keyzer Double Saison or Mestreechs Aajt) but otherwise few surprises. The food was quite good, as far as I had some. Prices are reasonable, all in all worth a visit when in the neighborhood. |
