74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 deaconmike (8) Roswell, | March 26, 2013 Sports bar atmopshere with good selection on tap. Food is decent, but not the reason you come here. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 decaturstevo (102) decatur, Tennessee | April 20, 2012 Huge selection of beers. Food selection is nice as well. Easy access if you can find a parking place. | 82 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 GHOKIE (8) , | March 20, 2012 Great selection of craft beer; food was good, but not great. Service was above average. Great place before or after a game. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 14/20 drdisque (28) Illinois | November 1, 2011 Was excited to go here as I live out of town - surely a bar with 140 beers on tap in a different market than I live in would have SOMETHING I would be interested in that I hadn’t had before. However, the selection is just underwhelming. Lots of standard widely distributed non-seasonals. A fair amount of macros/macro imports. Only 1 tripel on the entire list (and they were out of it). Selections from the local breweries were mostly lagers and lighter ales (not entirely Taco Mac’s fault). Food was good by bar food standards and prices were very reasonable though. Waitress service was good, did not check out the bar. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 hopsdiva (13) Atlanta, Georgia | July 25, 2011 It’s weird to say that a place with 140 beers on tap doesn’t make beer it’s top priority. Don’t get me wrong, they have a good selection, but the focus is more on watching sports than discussing the aroma and lacing on each beer. That being said, of the metro Taco Mac’s, the Metropolis location does have the most events that would appeal to the beer geek. If you sign up for the Brewniversity program, you will receive a newsletter that will keep you posted on upcoming cask and meet the brewer events. A few years ago I met Larry Bell of Bell’s Brewing. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 BeerSnobBob (11) North Carolina | July 15, 2011 Big selection of taps and bottles. Great bar food. | 80 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 16/20 craftbeerdesign (100) Alpharetta, Georgia | April 13, 2011 by far the best Taco Mac for beer... this location has the rarest stuff and frequently pours aged kegs as well (like a 3yr old Bigfoot!). otherwise, its a Taco Mac - same food and tvs as the others.... but much better beer selection. As with all TM’s, the prices can be too high on higher gravity beers. And the glassware does not match the beer sometimes... they pour by cost per keg, not style. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 markwise (157) North of Tampa, Florida | October 22, 2010 Went on a Saturday afternoon when UGA was playing. The wait for a table was over an hour, so we went to the bar, grabbed one beer and left. Took forever to get attention, and the bartender could barely hear me when I did. Mostly normal stuff, nothing too awful exciting. | 68 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 12/20 GTAEgeek (103) Atlanta, Georgia | October 17, 2010 This is a great place to watch games or hang out, and the selection is very good, but the atmosphere is that of a sports bar, not a true beer bar. The food is fair, and both it and the beer are overpriced. The selection is wide, with something for everyone, but no beers that really stand out. Overall, its a great sports bar, but if you’re going for the beer, there are better places. | 84 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 gvmdw7 (37) California | August 11, 2010 This is a modern sports bar. There are 140 taps, and 223 bottled beers. These numbers are promising and there are a few noteworthy beers. The bar is spacious and clean. They do have some unique beers, but you must get to know the manager to experience them. My biggest issue is that the bartenders are constantly taking orders from the phone. Why? What are the hostesses doing? If you want to watch a game, this is the place to be. If you want some exceptional beer, there are better place in Atlanta. |
