Very small and hidden in the east side of Montreal. Only three beers which are not very complex but well mad. The Perra loca is worth a try and is dangerously drinkable for a strong beer. Food is very good, especialy empanadas and tacos. Food and beer where dirt cheap, but have risen a bit lately. Fred the owner is very nice and enjoys talking about beer. I’ve never seen a lot of people in there, but it is usually an interesting crowd. Not the best selection of beer, but this is worth a visit. It is pretty unique.

A sure outsider in Montreal’s brewpub scene, this tiny, minimalist place in the North East part of the city serves only 3 ales. The smiling, enthusiast hispanic owner was a brewer at McAuslan once and realized his dream when launching this place. Patrons are mostly from South America and you are almost definitely going to hear Spanish in here. The 3 beers are not particularly adventurous, but clean and drinkable beers that are worth visiting from time to time for locals. The prices are far and away the lowest in the city. Food is also comforting, authentic and most satisfying, involving once again a great combination of quality/quantity/price. Good value, but not a place I’d spend whole evenings in. It is quite minimalist and the TV playing semi-nude latina singers just is not my style. It’s still warm though.

This place is very small, the decor is colorfull. The service is nice mostly by the owner.The beer that I had was good something that surprised me. As for the food well not so good.Nachos with melted cheese whiz and the maine course was rubberry.To bad because the people are very nice.

Établissement visité le jeudi 1er octobre vers 17h30. Ambiance: Petit local coloré avec téléviseur diffusant des vidéos de musique latine. Vue sur la mini-brasserie. Terrasse donnant malheureusement sur une rue bruyante. Service: Correct. Explication du menu de nourriture ainsi que des bières. Sélection: 3 fûts maison. A noter que les prix sont bas. Nourriture: Empenadas de boeuf en entrée et une grosse assiette mixte comme repas principal. (137e rating d’établissement)

Visité pour la première fois le 2 août 2009. Voila quelque chose d’unique dans le paysage brassicole, une basserie artisanale d’inspiration latino-américaine, avec une cuisine qui va avec. L’endrois comme tel est vraiment simple, décort minime, attaché à un petit centre d’achat. Je n’ai bu qu’une de leur bière, la Rubia, mais elle était bien faite et j’en doute pas que les autres sont de même (pas chère non plus). Les choix de plats sont très intéressants, que tu dois y retourner. PS: sur leur carte d’affert, c’est indiqué qu’ils ont 7 sortes, donc une autres raison d’y retourner.

I concur with Martin. Having actually been to Colombia, I can vouch for the Bandeja, this orgy of meats (chorizo, flank steak, pulled beef, chicharron-like oreille de crisse but better, beans, plantain rice, and an egg to top it off.) I also recommend the empanadas Calenas, filled with pulled beer and veggies. They aslo serve Sancocho, a earthy soup stew. The beers are good and cheap, 3.50$ for a pint, 2$ per glass. You’d never expect this kind of tiny Latin American bar to be a brewpub. But it is. And a decent one too. The Colombian owner and brewer has worked for Bavaria and McAuslan, and now brews on this tiny system to serve his patrons. There must be about 25-30 places inside, with about the same on the terrace when the weather cooperates. The 3 beers offered so far are all clean and very drinkable, focusing on the malts apport. But the draw here, in my opinion, is the Colombian cuisine. The owner’s wife cooks for you in a small kitchen at the back of the brewery. The bandeja paisa is excellent and the portions are...humongous! We got a few meals out of that easily. If someone in your party doesn’t want beer, the guanabana juice con leche was fabulous, and I imagine all the fruit drinks are as well.
