Picked up some rare beer here, had a great time just looking over what to get. Good range of local stuff as well as imports. The spirit selection was out of this world.

Reasonable prices and a 200 or so bottle selection.
Staff is not very helpful. The woman there seems to be in a perpetually bad mood.
Nothing terribly rare but if this is the best Tokyo has to offer, you should just visit an actual Japanese brewery.

Tanakaya is a great liquor/wine/beer store. Very close walk to the Mejiro JR station (right on the Yamanote line). It has a huge beer selection, mostly American, British, Belgian, and Japanese. Very heavy on Belgian lambics and krieks. The one kick is that itís cash only. Sent me looking for an ATM on my first visit.
In addition to beer, this shop has one of the most extensive collection of various liquor that I have seen in Tokyo, at very nice prices. Huge selection of tequila, mezcal, armagnac, cognac, vodka, rum, gin, jenever, aquavit. Very nice single-malt and blended whisk(e)y section, with great representation from all over the world.
Might need to head back soon.

The service was very good.
Not as happy as others about this store. The number of bottles past their bbd was wayyyy too many;the first 6 american beers that i took out of the fridge were past their bbd.
Would of like a a better selection of German biers.
Best thing about going was the bakery across the street.

A basement shop next to Mejiro station. Great selection of international craft beers. They also have a dedicated cooler for japanese beers. Prices are not expensive.

Been a while since I was here, but itís hard to forget this place. Good selection of beers, but local and foreign. Probably the best selection I found in Tokyo. Luckily my hotel was close by, so didnít have to carry the bags of beer and glassware that far. Great place to stop by and stock up before heading out.

In a basement 30m away from Mejiro Station. Mainly a spirits store but has a fantastic selection of international craft beers. Japanese selection is poor and they are not even displayed properly which is very disappointing. Prices not bad and service satisfactory. Has signed photo of Jodie Foster on counter. Donít waste your time coming here for local beers but it is great for other countries.

I visited on their last day open of 2013 so they were crazy busy. The selection is great, I think if you go here youíre looking at the width & breadth of basically all you can commercially find in Japan. They had a scattering of stuff I hadnít seen before but most Iíd seen on Rakuten/online. About 2 fridges of Italian Craft when I went, 4 of Belgians(seriously about half their stock), the rest a grab bag of the US & the rest of the world. Small open fridge of Japanese craft beer. Their main fridges are PACKED and it is really hard getting bottles out of them-everyone does so exceedingly carefully for free of knocking some down and breaking them. Prices are average(some beers higher than Iíve seen others lower), service was subpar. The atmosphere here was kind of snobbish, I get the feel they prefer their cognac/whiskey/bourbon customers. Not at all welcoming & aside from the older guy I assume is the owner not even that knowlegeable about beer, they didnít know about lots of breweries I asked about. While chatting with my friend I think the owner overheard my complaints so when we left we suddenly got much friendlier service. I would have bought more but honestly the service turned me off so I decided to buy those other bottles online. After the great things Iíd heard about this shop I was expecting much more. For Japan, it is the best youíll find in terms of selection (Asahiya in Osaka blows them out of the water in terms of service-it isnít even close) but compared to a good place in the US or Europe it is lacking.

Great shop that I could and did spend too much time and money in. Although the local stuff is underrepresented, they have a stellar import selection to rival many American bottle shops. Prices were reasonable and service was only limited by language. A must.

Nice place, large selection from around the world, in addition to interesting local stuff. Glassware too. A bit pricey, but worth a look.

The main beer geek shop in Tokyo. They focus on importing the best of international craft beers, rare items and glassware.
Even though, they mostly seem to focus on major crafts such as Stone, Mikkeller, Brewdog and Belgian abbaye brews, they also have some other geeky breweries as well as some rare large bottles in limited quantity.
Their Japanese selection is surprisingly poor and badly presented in a corner though.
Prices are steep but not shocking for Tokyo, and thatís the price for finding your favorite wishlist items.
