82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 pari6819 (40) Florida | March 20, 2012 A very neat place to visit. Great items on draft, and often times items that are quite unique or unavailable in other establishments for months. I like the fact that the atmosphere is relaxed and the food is great. They have definitely had offerings well ahead of the curve in respect to other places having those items on draft. | 56 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 tightslice (4) Redwood City, California | July 22, 2011 Is this the same owners of the Winter Park Village establishment? Couldn’t find any other info online at the time (Summer 2011). The vibe was so-so. Pretty good food and great beer selection but there was something about this place that didn’t quite feel right. Even the bartender (who at first seemed super cool) started asking me about beer jobs in the area (as if he was saying "HELP ME GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!") Overall: Even good beers don’t help change bad vibes. | 50 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 10/20 UnholyBrewing (26) Central Florida(Upper Hell), Florida | July 3, 2011 ...the girls at the bar are pretty hot, and friendly, but dumb. Serve you a wheat, without swirling the bottle, they just throw it away, I mean come on. When you have to pour your own, what’s the point. Prices are pretty ridiculous. Most are business-type who think they are better than you because they know what Chimay is, and are wearing a suit. | 30 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 1/20 rfuerstwagner (12) | April 6, 2010 Just a huge disappointment. Went with the local beer meetup and was uncomfortable, felt underdressed, received bad service and the whole group has decided to stop going there. It is a huge shame too because they have a great beer selection and a great location, but these days in Tampa their are a lot of places sprouting up with great beer selections. | 78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 JAF737300 (45) Chicago, Illinois | January 3, 2010 Great space downtown Tampa. Service can be very good when not too crowded. Food has picked up and became creative. Great line up of tap brews and a very deep bottle selection. Bottle inventory can be spotty. Worth the trip on a non Fri/Sat night. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 thejon375 (14) Tampa, Florida | May 20, 2009 Nice place. Good selection and good service. A little pricey but what can you expect from a place right down town Tampa. Also has some good selections of wine. Check it out its worth it. | 74 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 DanielD (8) | May 18, 2009 Canned feeling. Not a warm and cozy beer bar - more of a wine bar. Guess I’m longing for the Colorado feel when I’m drinking good beer. Food is quite good, but pricey.
Not that most of us care, but my girl only saved $3 by purchasing an entire bottle of wine. We usually save at least the cost of a glass when we buy a whole bottle. The couple we were with were split on their thoughts about the place. She loved it, he hated it. | 78 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 17/20 nick76 (96) Tampa, Florida | May 11, 2009| Updated May 19, 2009 The ambiance is very upscale-urban with two rooms. One is a wine bar with a lounge and the other is a beer bar with tables. Also there is outdoor seating with a nice view of UT and soon to be Art Museum. The beer menu is outstanding with mostly craft beer and high end imports on both tap and in bottles. The food is quite good but expensive. Overall a fancy beer bar with no real equal this side of the bay but unlike the other it has food. Expensive but Nice! | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (228) Enghien, Belgium | February 10, 2009| Updated May 19, 2009 Visited the place for the Stone-Terrapin beer dinner.
Place was a little noisy (somehow they enjoy turning up that music), decoration is modern. Food was amazing and delicious.
My only problem with the place is its corporate / upscale atmosphere that doesn’t make it my #1 pick to share good craft beers with other craft beer lovers.
Add to it the overpriced parking fees that you pay anytime you park in downtown Tampa. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 matta (91) Tampa, Florida | February 3, 2009 I frequent this bar quite often. It is the ONLY Craft Beer bar in the S. Tampa area. It’s odd to me that the most affluent area in the Tampa Bay area only has one great Craft Beer bar? Anyhow, TAPS has a nice upscale urban vibe. The beer selection is rather impressive. 250 or so bottles to choose from, there are some real bottle gems in that cooler. The draft selection is pretty good. Heavier on the Specialty Imports than the American Crafts. I am an avid drinker of the Arrogant Bastard Ale on draft. It’s great sitting out front in down town Tampa, enjoying a great beer and smoking a good cigar! Ohh… it’s like 8min from my front door. it’s a sweet commute for me... and the food is Awesome!! |
