Large industrial building, open, lacks a pubby atmosphere, but there is a light buzz about it, rather like a business meeting on the shop floor. It carries a reasonable range of beers, not in the best of condition on our visit. Worth a look.

Excellent pub with a nice view of the canal and a good tap selection. Among the best places in Chester.

I must say this is a lovely pub, the beer is great, you couldn’t fault the selection available.
A great place to go on an afternoon, I’d avoid evenings though because of the students but that’s just me.
Nice views of the canal.
I’d suggest a visit.

Nice pub located in a refurbished warehouse by the Shropshire Union Canal with a nice view over the canal basin. Large central room with the bar at the back and a large crane in the middle. Five real ales were on at my visit in July 2009, the Ringwood Boondoggle was in good form. Friendly and efficient service. Nice pub handy for a couple of pints after a walk on the city wall or for a stop with the canal boat.

It´s not very far from the city centre. But if you walk there it´s worth a visit. Two floors and terrace next to the canal. 5 real ales and 14 other beer on tap. Wood and brick side by side (26.2.09).

An interesting setting which is a little way out of the city centre and situated next to the canal and railway. As the name suggests it’s a vast warehouse type building which can seem very empty and lonely at quiet periods but the ale selection is good. Not sure if you can sit outside by the canal but this would be quite pleasant on warm Summer days, if we ever get those back!

The pub – if it can be called a pub – is built, as the name suggests, in an old warehouse built by Thomas Telford on the banks of the Shropshire Union canal, next to the railway, on the western fringes of the city and is like drinking in a brick-walled warehouse full of assorted tat which, I suppose, is exactly what it is. It’s a lot more sociable than this suggests, however, and as long as you go midweek and early the pub seems to be a good place for a few well-kept cask ales.
