I hit this place up before a Habs-Sharks game. When you walk in, there is an immediate bar that goes for a while, and at the end, there is then a dining area. It’s very dark and cozy, and it has a lot of character. The bathrooms are kind of divey with some awesome wallpaper and some fantastic graffitti. The service was good, and there was good banter. The menu is full of German stuff, and it looks to be pretty expensive (up to $32 for an entree). I really wanted to try one of the larger entrees, but I was in a hurry, so I got the potato pancakes. They were decent, but I think they were a touch crispy and overdone. The beer selection here is relatively small, with about 5 German beers on tap, and maybe about 15 bottles. None of which are hard to find. All in all, this place was cool, and I wish I would have had time to try a bigger entree. From a strict beer perspective, this place is nothing special. The ambiance and the authenticity and the menu makes this a place I need to try again.

Nice location, right on the corner and on First. We ended up parking in the lot across the street which was interesting since the machine wont let you pay if you’re there before the hours where the spots are metered. We showed up 5 minutes before that and weren’t able to buy a pass. Oh well, there was no ticket on the car after dinner.
When you walk in the front door you’ll go by the bar first and snake your way around to the back where the dining room is. The décor is odd as they have heads of various big game animals on the walls. Everything is wooden (same with the bar). The stalls in the bathrooms have the saloon style doors and no locks, so if you’re a sit-down look under the door before entering the stall.
The food was quite good. I got a jaegerschnitzle that was enjoyable. The prices are really high (as in $20 and up per plate) but as it turns out those meals include soup, salad, and piece of strudel. Awesome. The stuffed pretzel with jalapeno was pretty good too. If you don’t mind spending some money on your meal and you like German food I recommend this place. The beer list is the usual for a German restaurant: half a dozen taps and a dozen bottles. I got a 500ml Vitus (surprise surprise).

I really do love Teske’s. Alot. Despite its small bar area, it’s a fun place to hang out with friends and watch a Sharks or Giants game. It’s not the typical craft beer drinking kind of place. It focuses on traditional German draught and bottled beers, which is great. Another huge highlight for me is the selection of schnapps available. The house schnapps is the jagertee, but do not pass up the barenjager (honey) schnapps. Amazing!
The food is typically served in three course meal style with salad/soup, main entree and dessert. Pretty nice, but pricey. The outside beer garden is is a must on those warm days. Grab a Bitburger and have some fun.

They have the best Spatan Octoberfest draught in the area, and other German beers on Draught and in bottles. The Bavarian food is great, and the beer garden in a real jewel in summer.

Lots of heavy bavarian food, some of it reminded me of my trips to Munich, some of it didn’t. Went during Maifest, nice festive atmosphere. I plan to go back someday. Good to go there if you are pretty hungry.

On draft they have a good selection of Spaten and Franziskaner, and in bottles they have 15+ German beers. The food is great, especially if you love German fare.
