This was easily my favorite beer place in St. Pete. Itís in a bit of a tricky location in an alcove within a business plaza. The bar area is fairly small (it used to be a French crepe place), with about 12 stools or so. There are couches and other seating options available as well as tables and chairs outside. The bartenders and owners were all fantastic, especially Nichole (she may have been the rockabilly chick that the previous commenter was referring to). They have 32 taps, with 30 devoted to beer and 2 to cider. As for the previous poster, the reason why they have cider taps is because cider sells really well. The taps are all American micros. They have some pretty common beers here, but they also have a few odd-balls (they had SIerra Nevada Ovila when I was there). The inventory moves pretty quickly with 1-2 new beers each day. They have 1 TV, but it is not entirely loud. The music is tasteful during the day, and they have live music outside many nights. This place sells snacks and cheese and fish dips, which looked awesome. I only have a couple of complaints about this place #1 - there is only 1 restroom located in the bar (granted there are more outside in the plaza area) and #2 - I think I saw 6 wheat beers on tap at the same time.
This is my speed. Great vibe in here. Not too hippy or hipster, but laid back and accommodating. Service is not extraordinarily attentive. And not remarkably patient either. Flights are available and they have very quickly rotating taps of some legendary and up and coming breweries. I like it a lot.
Not a bad place. The guy with the long hair behind the bar is pretty quick and friendly. The lady with the tattoos is a bit abrasive seems to favor other people at the bar rather than those that stand in the service line. They seem to be the only ones in the place.
I always get a funky metallic taste to my beers except for the cask brews. Iíve made mention of it and I just looked at like I have a second head.
Pretty decent selection of beers that canít be found at any of the other bars/breweries in downtown.
Music is always fun here and the BBQ upstairs is pretty great.
Good selection of beers, nicely labeled on the chalk board and easy to read, service was fine every time iíve been there. Nice outside courtyard with local bands, donít think there is food served, but plenty of eateries very close, hopefully we get more of these places opening downtown!!
Interesting, the highest rating about this place was the ambiance. Umm, what? There is no ambiance, itís a stripped down beer bar. Itís specialty is beer. They rotate often. They have rare releases. They donít need no stinking bottles. Some of these rates are just unfair. By far the best craft beer bar in St. Petersburg, and we have quite a few now.
Definitely what Downtown St. Pete has needed for a long time. 32 taps, great staff, great atmosphere, and a very good variety. They know their beers, they rotate them frequently, and they genuinely love what they are doing. The live music is always fun, and never obnoxious or overwhelming. The cheese dips and fish spreads are excellent accompaniment to the beers. If you are in St. Pete and love craft beer, this is a must.
