Still early days for this new Lygon St. beer bar. Iíve visited numerous times as staying close by. Solid tap selection from different Aussie micros, but slow turnover at this stage. It was busy on a Saturday night though. One complaint was they had a singing dude right next to the bar belting out tunes meaning you couldnít even hear yourself think to decide the next beer. Actually it was so loud in the bar we just left. Not cool. Thereís now a kitchen serving food. A good addition to the area, with Temple Brewing just around the corner.

Not a lot but still great beer selection on tap and bottle. Food is ok but slightly expensive. Nice atmosphere.

This place is probably the most adventurous and repeat visit worthy of the craft beer venues on this side of the Yarra (i.e. if you canít be bothered heading to Local Taphouse and dealing with St Kilda types). Has very frequent ítap takeoversí, some local, some NZ, some international. Has a very good capacity to get rare (for Melbourne) beers in. In all my visits, Iíve never bothered to get a bottle, so that speaks for the tap range. Food is OK, if a little on the small/over-engineered side. Service is typically excellent, and the vibe is often beer nerdy (i.e. more follks checking in beers of untappd than should eb allowed).

Great vibe in this place. really enjoy my experience every time. Trivia, Football, excellent tap list and great food. The dudes behind the bar are absolute gents too! Pricing is not the cheapest in town

Visited on July 27, 2013.
Ate pasta with chili and olive oil. Food was OK. My mate ordered some meatballs or such, thought itíd come with pasta, but didnít. Not an extensive food range, Iíd say eat before you go if youíre actually hungry.
Mainly imported beers on the tap list, and expensive at that. Likely exotic and nice if youíre local, but as a visiting beer tourist nothing much Iíd go hunting for here when looking for domestic beers.
Pretty crowded this evening when we visited, hard to get seats for 5 people it was.
Sort of boring venue, narrow by the bar.
Good service.

Great tap list. Cutting edge stuff being done at the Alehouse by some unpretentious staff.

Went on a quiet Sunday for lunch. Liked the vibe, great beers on tap (New Zealand Takeover). The barman was talkative and helpful. They also make a pretty good burger. Would love to go again as I could see this place go off on a Friday night.

Fantastic place. The beer selection is great, they rotate frequently, so you always have new stuff to try, love it. They have great 12 taps, and a small selection of the best beers to try. The service is great, they will go out of the way to get a cup of tea for my wife. The ambiance is very good too... I always enjoy the music. Finally, very tasty food, look out for the vegetable chips.

I like the feel of this place, and the fact they are supporting a lot of smaller local craft breweries. The highlight for me was some Emersonís on tap, Mornington Peninsula Imperial Stout and about three decent IPAís mean its gonna be a place to visit regularly for me.
