Cajun food in Salt Lake City? Who knew? Anyway, a really nice place for beers. Excellent lighting in all the right places here. A wide selection of beers and decent food. The gumbo was excellent and the jambalaya was on par. They have a small lot for parking and some parking on the street that is free later in the evening. I absolutely loved it here.
A cajun themed bar and restaurant in Salt Lake City? Sounds interesting... Okay, so the place itself is actually kind of a typical bar/restaurant and (thankfully) doesn’t have kitschy decor or anything like that. The menu is certainly Nawlins inspired, though. Met up here with Dallas and Bonnie to begin our crawl through some of the breweries and also just the city in general.
Great beer list with maybe 30 drafts and a ton of bottles. Given the ABV limits on draft beers, mostly local, Utah/SLC stuff. Being from out of town, it seemed good to me and I had pours of the Red Rock Jr. IPA and The Annex Sour IPA before trying a taste of the Dangereux from 2 Row that Dallas ordered.
Friendly bartender and really good prices on most of the beers, though some of the special, imported, and significantly higher ABV stuff was pretty pricey.
A good choice when in Salt lake. They have several draft about 20 and many bottles. I only had the appetizer but it was good. I wouldn’t go to salt lake for Cajun... but if you are from the west coast, why not.
Nice selection, mostly bottled beer, but a few taps. No flights per UT state law. Food is Louisiana inspired and big plates for very reasonable prices. Very nice beer list of a couple of hundred beers.
Located in a brick building with limited parking on the side. Foods going for a New Orleans theme but is fairly bland. I had the Etoufee and there was way too much rice. The reason to come here is the incredible beer list. You could go a year and not see a Cantillon on the list and they had 4 at prices that were pretty reasonable all things considering. They also had over 300 other bottle options many of which you can’t find in the local liquor stores. The had 30 taps of mainly Utah beer. Of course the states draft laws constraint hem. The service was pretty good considering how bus the place gets. If you come to the SLC you have to come here.
Recommended by a college friend, this bar met expectations. New Orleans styled food with seemingly every 4.0% Utah beer on draft. Hundreds of bottles as well. Food was good, service was OK, but slow. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Saturday evening, place was busy, not packed. Great service from the bartenders-- some old guy got shot down for complaining about the 4% Hooegarden-- chuckled w/ the bartender. Ended up talking with and yelling at the Olympics with 5 guys around me that we’re very friendly and beer-knowledgable. I drank a large portion and the bill was only 20 something-- think
I got comped a beer or two. I’d go back to SLC just for this bar.
