Stopped in here yesterday while I was in the area. I have always heard great things, figured it would be as good a time as any to see what all the talk was about.
Long, thin shop with bottles in every nook and cranny. Atmosphere is pretty good. There are people mulling around the tables drinking beers and looking at the bottles. Service was pretty good. I was asked a few times if I needed help, which I did because they apparently don’t put the prices on any of the bottles you may actually want...
Quality and Selection were both quite high. They have a TON of bottles in this place, lots of things I would love to try. I didn’t have a lot of time so I did a quick once over and picked up some belgians I haven’t seen in awhile.
This is definitely one of the best bottle shops I have been to. Prices are a little high but the selection makes up for it. I will definitely return in the future.

I knew about this place for a while, but finally for the first time I managed to get over there. In any case, it is pretty impressive for PA, which was a dearth of good and inexpensive beer stores. The beer selection is impressive. Aside of New Beer Distributors, this probably has a better beer selection than any store in New York. In fact, it doesn’t seem like they even sell cheap, shitty beer. The great thing is that you can buy a glass of beer in the back and browse around the vast selection. The complaints that I have are that the organization system of the beer is a little arcane. It seems to sort of be arranged by country, but not in a well-labelled way. Further, the prices are not clearly marked on each bottle so it is sometimes hard to figure out how much each thing was. That said, those are minor complaints and after a few visits, Some of the prices were a bit high, but I think cheaper than the Foodery. Quite nice. I hope to be back. They also seem to have some rare and expensive stuff there for those people who are so inclined. Workers know what is up too. Oh, and they also have food for people trying to do an extended stay.

Ambiance - in a strip mall, and looked to be really small. It’s actually spaced out pretty well inside. There is a tap system and a bar, perhaps food, but I didn’t notice.
Service - at 1st, I thought the guy was going to be stand-offish, but he ended up being really helpful, and friendly. I enjoyed his knowledge. The selection had +/-’s, they had a lot, but if it was a 12oz bottle, you had to buy a 6 pack, which I don’t like to do for something that I haven’t had or when I really just want to cross off a bizarre country. I could have gotten Thailand, Colombia, and a few others, but wasn’t going to buy a 6 pack of them. On the flip side they did have some cool stuff.
Value - the prices seemed in-line, but I didn’t price shop all that much.

Great place to sit and have a beer while staring at a ton of other beer you’d like to buy. Plenty of taps, growler fills, nice wordily selections. Staff is helpful too.

Small store packed with craft and imports. I traveled to store as did a few people I spoke to at the tables in front of the growler fill station. Nice employees, was asked if I needed help several times. Many holiday gift packs, much more than normal stores. They seem to have a killer relationship’s with their distrubutors. Worth a trip, to bad it is not a bit larger, the store itself, they could us some room. Well done. Update.... they have food in the growler area were they sell flights, pints and cheese platters. Food is fried bar fare. The growlers they sell are also much nicer than other stores. German made snap tops in two colors with two glass styles and several handles. They are worth the trip alone. I upgraded the rankings in service and selection. Service because I went in twice during the holidays when it was mobbed and these guys were running around still helping everyone even people buying gifts that had no idea and ven one day last month when one guy was running the whole place, food, growler station, checkout and floor and was doing a fantastic job at it all. Selection because I just have not found anything close to this at all. UPDATE, service continues to be the best of any store I visit and the same staff is there when you return showing good ownership. My local has had 4 beer guys gals in a year.

Being from Quebec, Canada, I went there as part of my yearly US beer quest and vacations. I had high expectations after reading other reviews here and boy...in fact I was SO flabbergasted right after stepping in...it was surreal. After taking two steps I found some Mikkeller Rauch Geek Breakfast, which I had been looking for for the past year and a half...right there the pace was set! I just couldn’t stop looking around and the bill couldn’t stop getting higher either! If I wouldn’t have stopped in Westmere NY on my way to Philly, I would’ve spent all my budget here. The ratio of rare brews they had in there was astounding. North Coast Oaked Old Rasputin, Goose Island Madame Rose are only two examples of rare delicacies I was able to see there. Honestly, I spent about 110$ but I could’ve easily spent 500$. Ambiance is OK, I mean, it’s a beer store, but it’s clean, well organized, and well...the sheer amount of selection just fills you with joy and spikes up the ambiance score by itself!!! Service was super, Willlam (the general manager) showed/suggested me a couple of outstanding brews, we discussed a bit about Quebec brews (Dieu du Ciel, which he had behind the counter) and was super helpful. Prices were good, maybe a dollar more on some bombers compared to upstate NY or VT. Overall, this could be my one and only destination for all my US and unobtainable (in Quebec) imported brews. Too bad it’s a 8 hours drive away from me!
