With bout 8-9 bar stools 5 small tables and a couple of stuffed chairs, this is a small venue, but thereís additional seating outside and the ambiance is good. Only 8 taps, but well -chosen, and a large amount of bottle d beer, some if which is kept in coolers. Great place for a beer and some beer to go.

Cute store on Euclid, very close to UKís campus. Some sidewalk seating, couch and table seating inside, and a small bar. Service seemed educated, responsive, and naturally friendly. Prices are reasonable. A few taps, but several bottles and cans of a wide array of breweries and styles throughout the US and abroad. Iíd love to go back and spend some more time here.

Maybe the start of the craft revival in Lexington. I first came here only a couple weeks after it opened, and since then, theyíve done a good job keep beers on the shelves and interesting taps going. Unfortunately, some of the more interesting taps are being hyped online, making it impossible for everyday drinkers to get in and have some, but still, a must stop in Lexington.

This is a great beer bar and bottle shop rolled into one. No wine or liquor means more focus on having an awesome regularly rotating tap selection. Bottle selection is almost entirely single bottles and very nicely arranged. They also have a respectable glassware selection. Not a lot of room inside but enjoyed sitting outside at one of their 4 tables. The staff was very friendly and took the time to safely wrap the glasses I bought. Had Dreadnaught on tap and purchased bottles of Arctic Panzer Wolf and Breakfast Stout to go. A must stop for anyone in Lexington.

The perfect beer shop? For me it is. 8 taps with 2 funky beers when I visited. First thing I saw was a highly allocated and (Iíd thought) sold out future whale behind the bar. Good start.
$1 for a 2oz pour of any beer they have, so no thimble taster to rush your decision. I love this place. Made up my mind. Time to hit the shelves.
Bottles are well organized and there is plenty of room to shop - this was a Saturday morning. Iím sure it fills up for events. Might not have the largest selection in the state, but itís not a giant box liqour store and what they have is almost all good stuff.
Kentucky beer prices canít be beat and Beer Trappe is no exception.
This place is a must stop. Itís not much of a trip off 75 and well worth the short detour.

Sunday afternoon visit with limited time. Two staff on hand were warm, knowledgeable without condescension. Only 500 miles from home, Iíll be back in April.

I was in Lexington for the World Equestrian Games and wanted to get some beers not available in NC. I picked up some Dogfish Head World Wide Stout, Avery Mephistophelesí Stout, and Avery The Beast. While there I had a few glasses of the beer on tap. It was a very pleasant experience and the people were willing to talk beer. When I asked about a chocolate beer on the shelf, they told me that they had found it rather disappointing. It was refreshing that they were more interested in me getting a good beer rather than just increasing the amount I was buying. I would definitely return here on my next trip to Lexington.

I liked the place pretty well. They had a nice selection and the prices wasnít too bad. iíd say if your in town you should for sure check this place out. Iíve noticed that Lexington has a few more locations to check out before you blow your complete beer budget though.

Craft beer store meets craft beer bar... Excellent concept! Eight regularly rotating taps and the areas best selection of rare import and American craft beer coupled with a very knowledgeable staff make the Beer Trappe a must-visit for any beer enthusiast passing through Lexington. A lack of food should not deter potential cutomers, as their store policy encourages outside food, even keeping to-go menus from nearby resturants behind their bar. Give this place a shot, and youíre likely to become a regular.
