A very good beer bar. Selection is very decent with a fair number of taps, many of which are from local breweries. Location is ideal and caters to those of us uninterested in Westport or Power and Light.

Visited early evening on a Wednesday. There is a parking lot on the north side of building or ample street parking. They did a nice job designing the bar, open and bright with a long wood bar and several tables and couches spread throughout the room. 20 well chosen beers on draft, along with an extensive bottle list which featured several of the Shelton Brothers beers that are difficult (or impossible) to find elsewhere. Bottle prices were higher than some would expect, though likely the right price to keep these beers in stock. Also featured a way above average selection of spirits. Snack and entree menu, I had the nuts and pickles, both of which were tasty. Great welcoming service, and good conversation at the bar. If I lived closer, it would be in my regular rotation.

76 = ★★★ (Worth the visit, must for locals, and visitors with time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Midday visit, just me a friend and the chef. Chef/owner is hands on, knowledgable cicerone, and has an excellent selection--20 on tap, 65 in bottles, 50 bourbons, 10 rye whiskeys, 6 Irish and 8 Scotch: It is a out for mature adults. Great lighting--big windows let out on the street, high stools at bar and small tables but some soft couches and benches, No busy decor, focus is on the selection. The chef uses no vinyl tubing and does some of her own mixing. I had a chowder and a burger. Both were solid and excellent quality, very robust. The owner chooses the beef mix. Beer advise led to a memorable tasting experience. Prices are manageable but reflect the quality of the food and the selection.
