Great bottle selection, decent tap selection. Service was OK, a bit aggressive around peak hours. We could not order beer fast enough for them. Staff knew something basic about the beers. Decent location. Inside is kind of dark, outside tables nice.More or less an average place to go for beer in todayís market.

Great beer bar in the Fairmount neighborhood. Always bringing in hard to find and tasty Belgian and Belgian inspired brews as well as top-notch crafts of different styles. Service has always been very good both at the bar and in the dining room. Food is excellent. Can be pricey but I think that is more because of the caliber of the beer and less being overpriced. I wonít say I always stop in here (mainly becuase Iím not the biggest of Belgian beer fans) but Iím always happy when I do.

Nice Belgian bar located conveniently in the Art Museum area of Philadelphia. The bar has nice indoor and outdoor seating and a great feel for the bar section. They usually have over 10 taps of pretty interesting brews that are on a decent rotation. The bottle selection is extensive but nothing insane.

Stopped in here for a beer crawl in the fairmount section ... When you see Tom Peters name attached to a bar you want to check it out.... having said that I was not blown away by this place .... the staff and service was poor for a late saturday afternoon .... enjoyed the outside seating ... the beer list was solid belgian and the bottle list has some very pricey rarities, but is very respectable and covers all the belgian styles ..... the food did look delicious and everyone was scarfing down mussels .... Iíd say a poor manís monks with some cool art on the inside ..... prices were of course up there given the type of beers your dealing with ... based on the selection this is a winner of a spot if you know your belgian brews

bar section is dimly and warmly lit with nice dark hardwood floors and bar. another slim bar with stools is located against the wall directly opposite the bar...a nice atmosphere to enjoy conversation and good beer. restaurant side is slightly brighter and decorated with nice paintings. service on the restaurant side could have been better...the server was very unaccomadating when my friend wanted to modify the menu iitem she was ordering. food was outstanding just as it is at monkís and the beer selection is very nice. belgium is beautifully represented on the beer list but i do wish founders made an appearance on the u.s. beer list. i enjoyed a very nice meal with great beers at a very fair price. iíd definitely go again and eat at the bar next time.

Heard this place is owned by the same people that own Monks. They did have the monks cantillon gueuze which I had after a long day and night of drinking. Service at the bar was a tad questionable at times and the beer list was far less impressive than Monks or many of the other bars I visited in philly.

Stopped in here for a bit before going out on New Years Eve. Prices are about in line mostly with what youíd expect at a downtown beer bar: some way overpriced, some reasonably priced, and actually some that were cheaper than expected. Nice selection of Russian River stuff, Cantillon Gueuze, Fantome, huge selection. Smaller choice of taps, but nice beers all around. We got some small plates and they were fine. Definitely recommended in youíre in Philly. Iíve never been to Monkís Cafe, so I canít compare with that, but this was a really neat, low-key place. Check it out!

Place had the benefit of being only a few blocks away from the RBSGí11 hotel. Only got to stop in once, but it was well worth it. Great bottle selection and decent number of taps, prices were excellent for a bar ($5 pints of chocolate yeti?!). got my fill of Russian river beers which paired nicely with the best veggie burger Iíve ever had. Really tasty fries, great ambience (though I imagine it gets crowded, we came at a good time)... This place is excellent in terms of price and quality, though donít expect to come here for dozens of new ticks, I suppose.

Went here with TonyDiUlion and JRedmond on a quite Thursday night. Taps were both Belgian classics and American craft. Maybe 9 or 10 taps... Bottle selection was much more extensive... all the classics with a few unusuals. In all, totaling over a hundred brews. Prices were pretty good, small glasses were started at 3 bucks, which we used to sample.. approx 10 oz, and 5 for full pint sized. Nice ambiance.. a traditional Belgian taproom feel.
