Bar and game room setup. Tons of TVs to watch the game. Average selection for Asheville, less local then other spots. If you are shopping in the area then sure get a pint, but I wouldn’t make a special trip. Food was great! Nice selection. (reviewed from notes)

Large place with pretty decent food. Pretty good selection of crafts, but most of your basics that can be had anywhere. Ok selection of locals. Definitely had that frat vibe, younger crowd going. We haven’t been back, too many other options in town which are much better.

Dropped in to check the tap list. It is extensive but had nothing to excite. Bottle list had a few for me to try. Younger crowd, big place etc. Would have enjoyed in my 20s.

It does look like a bit of an indoor bier garden with separate rooms for pool tables and darts. The bar in on the left side from the Haywood street entrance. They have a number of taps although as others have said there’s a lot less emphasis on local craft as their is on national craft. They have a large bottle list but nothing to rare or easy to find the way the organize the list. The food is solid pub grub. It’s a decent enough place if you happen to be in the neighborhood to grab a pint but I don’t see this as a destination place.

stopped in to this huge place 7/17/11.... again, it’s friggin huge... and dark. beer list is quite large but less locally diverse than barley’s (where i had just come from). it had a nice vibe... i guess a dive-y, darker, more grimy clientele... so i fit in well. service was spot on.

We saw an advertisement that said this place had the biggest selection in town. I guess that’s technically true. The food was decent, and I guess so was the beer list ... not the strongest regional selection, but yes they do have a long list, many of which you’d see elsewhere in the country. Hot waitresses might make it worth stopping in.

A generally friendly place with a decent selection of beers. Not much that you can’t find elsewhere. I didn’t have the food so I can’t really comment on that. Prices seems a touch higher than elsewhere. Not a bad place to stop though.

Large, dimly lit bar with a large selection of bottled beer. Bartender knew her stuff and was helpful as well as beautiful. Only thing that was a little odd was an undercover cop snooping around checking ideas and scoping people.

Stopped in for lunch and to kick off a beer drinking weekend in Asheville. Ambiance is good. It’s got something for everyone, the place is huge. The front windows open completely to create an outdoor feel which was great on a spring afternoon. Expected a more german influenced menu by the name, but the food is more local/regional which isn’t bad. Menu is comprehensive. They did have a bratwurst special with house pretzel roll and kraut. It was awesome. Other food we tried was also very good. Beer list is quite long, although not a lot of local beer which was surprising and a bit disappointing for us. Nothing very unusual on the beer list, just lots of choices. Service was average. We had hoped for a local suggestion but got nowhere with that request. The server actually recommended I have a Smithwick’s (lost points). I would certainly return here for food and ambiance. The beer you can get anywhere.

stopped on a brief asheville trip. had an ok selection. wanted to find some of the local fare and seemed a little slimmer than expected. one of the catawawba’s on tap, one pisgah, a few other carolina brews - but lacking. otherwise had a fairly straightforward selection of american craft brew. we ate dinner and the food was pretty good. waiter didn’t know anything about the beer though. ok overall.
