Visited the Brewery and Restaurant during their grand opening. 4 taps in the restaurant upstairs (the brewery is in the basement). Only serving beer for the Trapp Brewery and all are lagers (Vienna, Helles, Golden, Bock)... and all were excellent. Food was pretty expensive, but very good.

Kind of fun to get to - especially during road construction season. The brewery is to the left before the main lodge, although there is a sign down the hill announcing the future location. Four taps running, fights of the four are $7.50. Service was ok; a little disinterested perhaps, although he knew the beers. They have a pretty small inside space, but more room outside on a nice patio with a great view of the Green Mountains. Beers were kind of meh, although the Spring Bock was tasty enough.

Stopped here for the first time recently...more for the Sound of Music connection up at the Inn then for the brewpub...but Iím never one to miss checking out a craftbeer establishment. Overall the beers were good but not great...mostly German/Austrian inspired styles obviously. I would not consider this a craftbeer destination...but certainly a place to stop if in the area. As others have said...the food is really the star here...authentic and delicious...perfect for lunch...informal dinner...or just beer and a snack. We werenít able to see the brewery itself...only pictures. Iím sure having a beer on the deck in nice weather would be a big draw...for us though it was after dark and winter time...although that made the ambiance inside perhaps a bit more enjoyable than otherwise. Definitely stop here if in the area...and if interested...visit the Inn up the road to lean more about the Trapp Familyís history...which is very interesting.

Another neat stop with Max, Andy, and Pearl during another of our Vermont trips. We stopped in for a few beers and then wandered the grounds and went and watched (and petted) the pigs out back. Lots of wood inside, and lit well with a lot of natural light coming in from outside, keeping the place bright and welcoming. We opted for a full pour of everything on tap and split them amongst ourselves. The bartender was incredibly friendly and hospitable. When he saw me taking notes and all of us sharing our stuff together he brought out and opened up a bottle of another one of their beers that hadnít been on tap in a while so we could try it. Gorgeous location, really friendly staff. Didnít eat here but the food everyone else was getting looked rather good and prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

The scenery canít be beat. Beautiful views of Mt. Mansfield and the rest of the green mountains during the day, and a nice lodge feel during the evening. The beers, while limited and not my favorite styles, are outstanding for what they are. The food (sandwiches and pastries) are good but expensive. Come get a few beers and leave. Worth the stop.

The brewpub is combined with their Bakery/Deli, about a 0.25 mile walk from the Lodge itself. The atmosphere is ok, a small bar, bland, next to a kitchen, with a view of the lovely surrounding mountains. No effort to recreate an authentic German beer hall. The service was spotty, some days ok, other days just godammed bad. Many times thereís patrons standing around waiting for a pint, and no ne to serve them. Weird way to run a business. The food, is from the associated bakery/deli, and ranges from ok t good, as long as you are willing to wait for a good while to be served. The value is ok also, $7.50 for a pint, which in this Lodge is a relative bargain. If they improved their service, I could boost my rating. If they had a more spacious pub, with more of an authentic German atmosphere, I could take it up a notch. The only good thing I will say is that the Lagers they serve are all well made, and enjoyable. Thus if you find yourself in this next of the woods, I would stop in.

Stopped in late morning on my way home to Jersey. Was first served of the day. This place has the most gorgeous views! Nice modern log cabin feel. All the delicious looking baked goods as you walked in were very tempting. No free samples. Ordered the tap list flight and sampled on the back outside porch while taking in the sights. The beers were decent, but a little pricy. The views alone were worth the stop.

Nicely located at the bottom of the Vermont green mountains with a perfect view from the patio. The beer is very well brew with clean crisp version of Austrian lagers. The pastries and cake are not bad either. The food and drinks are a bit pricey but that is probably the price to pay. Nice stop when coming back from Stowe or Smuggler Notch

Fairly out of the way. Located in small lodge on hill. Inside no frills but with great patio and spectacular views. Service was quiet bad. The only person serving was more busy trying to score some girl that was half his age. He think that if he uses F-words he would be cooler. Lame. Beers were authentic and quiet nice.

Sitting on top of a picturesque scene this place looks like a you have just escaped to the swiss alps minus a few thousand feet. The brewery is seperate from the Lodge and is all glowing natural wood with a small bar and dining area with lots of fresh baked pastries and breads. Stopped in with the wife on a rainy afternoon and ordered a paddle of their sampler. Nothing to special, I remember their beer being top notch but this visit was full of lifeless lackluster beer that was very $$... I had four 4oz samples and bought a 750ml to go (which were prefilled in swingtop bottles and sitting at room temp... not sure how fresh it was ? But the wife was intrigued so we grabbed one as we were paying... came to like $27... considering the style the price point is way out of whack even if the beer was spot on, which they were not.

Few brewpubs can have a view to rival that of Trappís Family lodge breweryís terrace, opening up on the mountainous areas near Stowe, totally reminiscent of Austria. You would not come for that reason alone, but the lagers are also clean, crisp examples of their styles that have not quite rivalled the best that Iíve had in Austria, but are very honest examples. Sadly, the prime location and touristy nature rimes with dramatically high prices. 15 minutes away, at the great Alchemist pub, you can get a pint of awesome pale ale for barely 4 dollars. Here, we paid 6.50 for a lesser beer. The food is limited to bakery stuff like sandwiches, salads, pastries, but very good for what it is, although again, you would not expect less at the very expensive prices it goes for. We will come from time to time for the land, but itís not a detour that the beer merits in itself, as much as I like Austrian lagers.
