i love this place, but the last time i was in there, the little asian guy was a dick to me. i could have gone without the sarcasm and condescension.

Small and almost dungeon like, but a lot is packed into the tiny space. Staff seemed knowledgeable and they were very attentive. Great selection of both new and old world beers, including some Cantillon. Price seemed pretty standard for the area, maybe a little pricey for some of the rarer stuff. Cool little spot where you can definitely waste some time and money.

A much smaller store than I anticipated. The location’s in an awesome spot right near the water, and I’d imagine the rent’s pretty high. There’s a decent amount of local stuff from the likes of Westbrook. Evil Twin naturally features pretty heavily too. Plenty of offerings from Against The Grain and Jester King were available too. I assume this is has to do with their connection to Brewvival. As others have mentioned, a relatively large amount of space is dedicated to European stuff. There’s also a growler station that did pours of mostly local brews. Service was friendly, prices weren’t bad. Overall, definitely worth a stop.

like walking into a cellar, tight small and packed. decent way to pick up westbrook and some other local options. decent growler station as well. would be nice if it was bigger though. too much space given to European stuff, need more focus on american craft, for the size. but overall, decent place.

Very choice, known not only to beer geeks, but regular people as well as a landmark. I was pleasantly surprised how unassuming and friendly the staff was, I love how you can break up any six-pack, EVEN CANS. The selection is hard to beat for such a small piece of real estate, and shrewdly chosen. Value is very good, not quite as cheap on a few bottles as I would have liked, but hey, you can’t have everything, I guess! Highly recommended.

Tiny store, jam packed with beer and people when I visited during Beervana. Despite the crowds, staff went out of their way to help everyone, gave good advice, and went above and beyond. Top notch selection. Best for miles around.

In my opinion the Charleston Beer Exchange is one the best beers shops out there. The shop itself is fairly compact, but packs a punch. It is clearly run by beer lovers. They have a about 10 taps for growler fills and a pretty amazing selection of bottles. There are bigger stores out there, but the quality of the beers on offer is difficult to beat anywhere. Plenty of good local stuff (Westbrook, COAST & Evil Twin), US and world-wide. I picked up some Justin Blåbær, Vintage Bon-Chiens and a variety of goses on my first visit. You can also go for singles on anything they sell. A brilliant beer shop.

Craft beer mecca in CHS. They know and respect their product like few others. Focus is on quality, and they seem to turn over anything that should be moved quickly. Not a huge store, but again, quality reigns. The fact you can get singles of anything they stock in 4/6’s is awesome.
