Very choice, known not only to beer geeks, but regular people as well as a landmark. I was pleasantly surprised how unassuming and friendly the staff was, I love how you can break up any six-pack, EVEN CANS. The selection is hard to beat for such a small piece of real estate, and shrewdly chosen. Value is very good, not quite as cheap on a few bottles as I would have liked, but hey, you can’t have everything, I guess! Highly recommended.

Tiny store, jam packed with beer and people when I visited during Beervana. Despite the crowds, staff went out of their way to help everyone, gave good advice, and went above and beyond. Top notch selection. Best for miles around.

In my opinion the Charleston Beer Exchange is one the best beers shops out there. The shop itself is fairly compact, but packs a punch. It is clearly run by beer lovers. They have a about 10 taps for growler fills and a pretty amazing selection of bottles. There are bigger stores out there, but the quality of the beers on offer is difficult to beat anywhere. Plenty of good local stuff (Westbrook, COAST & Evil Twin), US and world-wide. I picked up some Justin Blåbær, Vintage Bon-Chiens and a variety of goses on my first visit. You can also go for singles on anything they sell. A brilliant beer shop.

Craft beer mecca in CHS. They know and respect their product like few others. Focus is on quality, and they seem to turn over anything that should be moved quickly. Not a huge store, but again, quality reigns. The fact you can get singles of anything they stock in 4/6’s is awesome.

Was taking to this store by a local friend who wasnt kidding when he told me this was a world class spot. The customer service is incredible, they are very informative and one is consider a master beer something...he knows everything there is to know about beer i swear but he will be the first to admit he doesn’t..but he does ;). IF you guys can make it out here i would 100% recommend it, huge selection of all types of beer, rare beers, growlers, etc.. if you want an amazing place to get some beers with a massive selection then you have came to the right place!

Three trips in a week during my visit to Charleston to this fantastic little beer store. Located in a historic building that has a very warm and cozy atmosphere. No crappy beers in this store. Everything very organized. Great local selection and imports. 10 tap growler bar. Extremely awesome, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Amazing place.

Small shop in downtown Charleston area. We walked from hotel. Nice and solid selection. I hoped to find more local beer, but did walk out with a few things, including Justin Blåbær . Big import section and growlers.

There’s nowhere else you should go for bottles and growlers in downtown Charleston. Period. The guys at the shop are the absolute best in the business. You might have an issue with parking as it is downtown and Charleston can get mighty packed. But, make it a point to go if you’re down that way. You’ll be glad you did. Amazing service and fantastic bottle selection. Also, 10 taps for growlers.

Pop-in visit right after the CBX opened one morning, and was knocked on my ass at the greatness contained in such a tidy spot. A tiny, woody nook that one can imagine had some nautical purpose in the 17th or 18th century, now crammed with so much craft beer that I was very cautious with my movements (that being more or less the only knock on the joint, as if too much beer is really a knock). Killer selection, including excellent taps. Fabulous service. Prices maybe a scootch high, but there’s so much stuff you can’t get elsewhere that it’s hardly a demerit. Prioritize this place if ever in town.
