I finally got the chance to visit the historic downdown Charleston area and the highly rated Charleston Beer Exchange. Having been to their Greenville location before, I can safely say that this one is nearly identical. I love what these guys do; just beer, an excellent selection, growler stations, clean and well-organized, while having a friendly and very knowlegeable staff. A must stop for the craft beer fan if in the area.

Visited after they tapped Westbrook Mexican Cake and were filling growlers! Tremendous customer service and knowledge about their products. Space is quaint and used to perfection!! Wish this beer heaven was closer to me!!

Cozy beer shop with lots and lots of different beers to choose from. Really friendly staff. Since I bought so many beers, they gave me a beer glass of any choice for free. The prices are fair. They even have 3 different sizes of growlers to buy. A must go when in Charleston.

Great place with a great selection of beers. Only down side is you are most likely going to need to walk several blocks so itís lots of fun if you buy a lot.

Stopped in before departing Charleston. Small place but lots of great beers. Talked with the owner for quite a while, he was very helpful. He was expecting a release that day, the phone kept ringing, but he always came back and pointed out a few other items to me. Well worth the stop, would definitely visit again.

i love this place, but the last time i was in there, the little asian guy was a dick to me. i could have gone without the sarcasm and condescension.

Small and almost dungeon like, but a lot is packed into the tiny space. Staff seemed knowledgeable and they were very attentive. Great selection of both new and old world beers, including some Cantillon. Price seemed pretty standard for the area, maybe a little pricey for some of the rarer stuff. Cool little spot where you can definitely waste some time and money.

A much smaller store than I anticipated. The locationís in an awesome spot right near the water, and Iíd imagine the rentís pretty high. Thereís a decent amount of local stuff from the likes of Westbrook. Evil Twin naturally features pretty heavily too. Plenty of offerings from Against The Grain and Jester King were available too. I assume this is has to do with their connection to Brewvival. As others have mentioned, a relatively large amount of space is dedicated to European stuff. Thereís also a growler station that did pours of mostly local brews. Service was friendly, prices werenít bad. Overall, definitely worth a stop.

like walking into a cellar, tight small and packed. decent way to pick up westbrook and some other local options. decent growler station as well. would be nice if it was bigger though. too much space given to European stuff, need more focus on american craft, for the size. but overall, decent place.
