Walked down to check out the beer and cheese selection. A nice selection of bottles from all around. The prices are not to bad considering it is in a little touristy location. The cheese selection is great aswell as a few cured meats.

(Visited 09/2012): The Cheesemonger is located in Leavenworth which is about 2 hours east of Seattle. It is downstairs through a door (that we didn’t spot on the first pass) on Front Street amidst an idyllic Bavarian village. Street parking and a few lots nearby.

The store features a counter holding their stock of cheeses. Shelves and coolers around the perimeter of the store have the beers. They have a lot of bottles from the Pacific Northwest plus other domestic craft breweries. Also imports primarily from Germany and Belgium.

Service at the shop is good. Staff was helpful and friendly.

All of the cheese we tried on our visit (including several samples) was good.

Overall this is a nice little shop to visit.

This was an interesting place. Down the stairs and you find a cheese shop filled with about 400 different beers. The shop was a perfect beer shop and I found several brews that I had never had yes all German Beers that I needed. They had a selection of foreign and domestic brews. The domestic where mostly local micros with a few macros mixed in. It was a nice selection and those coming in will find a good brew to try with there smoked cheeses and meats they can also buy. The cheeses that I was able to try where very good they had some smoked cheese that I loved. They also have some smoked meats that will add to any Leavenworth picnic. So stop on in when you have a chance. Yes the place smells like cheese. I will be sure to go back when I am in town.

OK, your’re stuck in Leavenworth. Your wife is in one of the innumerable tourist traps shops selling "decorator" items, and you’re a bit behind on your beer shopping. Problem solved. All the beers here are imports with the Germans, English and Belgians represented. 10% discount if you buy a sixpack, and you can mix and match. They also have a stout-infused cheddar wich is killer!
