This place is F-ing Awesome; we all need a C&B in every town. Howie and his staff really know their beer! The locals know their beer! The atmosphere has a very Old Word ambiance that just seems to make each sip of your beer every bit more enjoyable! The beer is fresh and well taken care of. The selection is ridiculously sick…. I think the owner buys stuff that he wants to try and then puts the remainder in the Pub’s immense beer cellar. This place even has a package license, so if you like a bottle of beer… just ask and you can buy a few bottles for the road. A Very Highly Recommended Pub!

I no longer live in Sarasota, but when I was there I made several visits to the cock and bull both in its former downtown location, and its new one one Cattleman Rd by the highway. The new location is much bigger, though more out of the way which I kind of like. It makes it more of a place to kill an evening and less of a place to just stop in for a pint. The last time I was there they had a keg toss out back which was a &quo;hoot&quo; especially after two litters of Stout. When it is busy expect to wait for a beer which is worth waiting for as howie knows what he’s doing and keeps all his taps at the right temperature. Once he gets to you Howie (the owner) is always friendly and on week nights especially earlier in the night you can get great tips on beer from Howie. The tap selection is always different, and there is a large selection of bottles and Pub Cans. If it wasn’t for the Cock And Bull I might have never discovered great beer coming up in Sarasota. I’m glad its there and if your in town and havn’t been you have to go.
