The Counting House is Glasgow’s flagship Spoon’s. It is a truly gigantic establishment. It has an almost opulent feel about it due to the ceiling. The beer selection matches the size of the place - 18 cask ales in all, as well as some keg options, numerous bottles and bag in-box cider. I opted for some 7% Scottish cask ale action, as well as a bottle of Lagunitas IPA. As you might expect this place offers great value. I imagine it gets rather busy, but it was fine when we visited during the day. One of the best options for ticks in Glasgow.

My favourite pub in the Glasgow centre. Around 30 taps with always rotating brews - if you are a few days in town, you’ll find new beers nearly every day! Absolutely nice service and great food as well. They have 6 real ciders, but they were served out of a bag-in-box. And the old bank building creates a great atmosphere. Quite cheap compared to other Glasgow pubs!

Largest and grandest of the city centre Wetherspoon pubs in a fine bank conversion in the south west corner of George Square. It’s a fine place to drink with the ambiance of the building hitting home if you spend some time here, and there’s usually a high number of ales on offer too.

A crackin Spoons! Architecturally and interior sublime historic building, with a huge (and interesting!) array of taps. Just don't arrive too hungry cos u might be staying for several rounds. And lord knows u do not want to eat at a Spoons!

Quite a busy bar, can sometimes be a problem to get served or find a seat however it has a very big selection of ales which makes it a worthwhile look in from time to time. Reasonably priced beer. A must visit during the JDW Ale Festival with always a good few finds!

Very busy Wetherspoons on George Square close to Queens Street Station. Large number of Real Ale Taps - 3 banks of 6 but some of the beers appear on all 3 banks. Beers well cared for. Service can be slow. Often has brewery sponsored promotions and is getting more interested in real ale. Tweets beer list most days.

Gets a rather high score because of the amazing line-up of 18 hand-pulled cask ales, a few of them overlapping each other, though. A huge place, the flagship among the many JDWs in Glasgow, located next to the Queen railway station right in central Glasgow. OK service. Very crowded and noisy early on a Thursday afternoon. I left after four halves even if I could have stayed for a few more (visited, 12.04.2012).

Very busy JDW bar. Nice big hall kind of setting. Otherwise very typical JDW.

A typical weatherspoons. Cheap and cheerful. A large beer selection however lots of taps were off with no replacements.
