Do this chain actually own a less than excellent bar? The usual excellent cask choice, again like sitting in a (very large) front room. The gents toilet is very strange and is obviously converted from a public toilet form when the building was a court house.

Very similar to the Welly in Birmingham, interior has a bit of a ’spoons feel but the difference here is it’s busy but you get served! Fantastic choice of ales including some never seen before breweries. Makes me want to move back to the Black Country.

A typical "Black Country" pub in downtown Dudley. In line with all the other BCA pubs it has a great selection of real ales. Quite large and with lots of wood and carpet. A typical English boozer. Solid "Cloud" wifi and good service. The place to be in Dudley for ale drinkers.

Just like the Wellington in Birmingham, this is run by Black Country Ales, and it is plain to see the ways in which they are trying to reproduce that success story, e.g. (the Welly’s beer board idea has also popped up here, with beers listed by colour). The range of beers features local micros and a couple of ciders, and on the whole it is hard to pick fault with what this pub is doing. Not the friendliest place in the world, but the pub is a nice old place (a former court house would you believe). Well worth a visit - has the chance to do some great things.
