Converted storefront location, really good selection of both taps and bottles, good service by somewhat knowledgeable servers, decent food selection. A good place for a beer in Savannah. Next time Iíll have the sense to stop by during happy hour.l

Definitely Savannahís best beer bar. Although the Georgia beer scene leaves much to be desired, this place manages to get a pretty decent tap list. There are a number of local breweries featured- Carolina, Coastal Empire, Red Brick, Red Hare, and Wrecking Bar and some other American breweries, with just 2 international (BrewDog and Delerium). The place is definitely dedicated to providing great craft brew for the city and they donít serve the big macros. It is a large space with a small amount of outdoor seating, a large indoor bar and seating area. 2 large TVs in front of the bar. Prices are sweet- most beers are $2 during happy hour (pretty hard to beat), regular pricing is mostly $5-7. They have bottled beer too, nothing too exciting that I saw. The food is pretty good with a slight emphasis on seafood, but they also have really good salads (the Savannah chicken salad was quite good). Overall it was a fun place to grab a beer and certainly had the best selection of Savannah bars.

A pub with a focus on craft beer. Their tagline? "No crap. Just craft." Good draft list with a decent selection of local and regional brews, including some oddball ones. Food was tasty pub fare that did better than average. The staff were all friendly and our waitress had a good grasp on her beers. Ambiance was very meh pub style, but thatís fine. Worth a try.

One of my absolute favorite stops in Savannah. Nice place, well-lit, old-timey in a way, can be hipsterish depending on who is working and the clientele. Nice place, though.

I have sat both at a table and at the bar and was served promptly by a friendly person. The bartenders tend to know more about the brews than the servers, but it depends on who you get.

Always a great list of stuff on tap. If youíre from out of town, like me, youíre bound to find something local or at least something you havenít had.

Great food. I often try to get the special that day and itís always great.

Average to slightly high prices, I would say.

Overall, this is one of those "must stop" places in town for a beer person, I would say. Also, it is technically in the historic district, so you can get a to-go cup and walk around town with your beer. There is no open container laws as long as you are in the historic district.

Ok, so I REALLY liked this place. Went here on a Monday (all-day happy hour!). Cool vibe, with TVs split between playing old movies and sports. Dimly lit, but not too dark. They serve 1/2 pints (awesome), but even better, they only change 1/2 price for 1/2 pints! The staff is generous with tastes, as well. The selection is very very good (rodenbach grand cru on tap, fool) and evidently carefully chosen, nicely split between locals, regionals, nationals, and internationals. If Iím in Savannah, Iím there.

Distillery is probably the beer spot in town. We visited with friends for dinner and drinks. The have along bar on the left side of the place and the rest being table seating. Most interesting tap selection in town I would say. Spent my time drinking Westbrook, Founders and Terrapin, so was a happy man. Very tasty pub-style food, especially the fried pickles! A Savannah must-visit.

They were showing Nosferatu, ínuff said. Friendly, helpful but not overly knowledgeable (a server after all and not a bartender). Decent tap selection though I did not look at the bottle list. Good food, but donít go there looking for fresh seafood. I recommend it.

(Visited 01/2013): The Distillery is located in downtown Savannah a few blocks from the river on West Liberty. There is street parking in the surrounding area and a lot by the building.

The interior features a long bar along the left and table seating in the remainder of the space. Pretty brick and chalkboard art above the entrance (including notes like "No Crap. Just Craft"). The Three Stooges were playing on the TVs in the bar.

The Distillery has 21 beers on tap from breweries like Coastal Empire, Red Brick, Oskar Blues, Uinta and New Belgium. At least 50 in bottles from brewers like Cigar City, Clown Shoes, Bruery, Terrapin and Sweetwater.

Service at the bar on a relatively slow weekday afternoon was great. The bartender clearly knew his beers and was very particular on serving them correctly.

We did not have any food on our visit.

All in all this is a great beer bar to visit in Savannah.
