After five minutes here, it was obvious that Sven has a passion for what he does. I missed the Meet the Brewers Night by one day, but Iím glad because that meant that Sven was very generously able to spend a lot of time with me, and share some amazing beers. His cellar has taken years to fully develop, and is now better than most specialty beer bars in Belgium itself - especially his collection of lambik and geuze! All night a steady stream of locals of all ages came through to try various beers and to seek advice from The Man himself, which created a very special atmosphere where everyone is comfortable, at any experience level. Truly worthy of a beer pilgrimage to visit this place, Sven, and all his friends.

a belgian beer bar in mataro owned and operated by a belgian. seems more appropriate in brugge or brussels. classic belgian brown bar interior. simple food menu but exceptional beer selection, with multiple belgian bottles what many would call medium-to-high rareness. vintage beers available as well. rotating drafts of belgian, spanish, danish and german beer. iím sitting there drinking malvasia rosso and mamouche watching the next table over split a brutal IPA from newport, oregon. fun.
This place is pretty out of the way, since even if you take the train to Matarů you have to walk about 20 minutes up a hill and search for the location, but itís worth it. They were doing a steady business when I was there, but everyone was ordering lager and pale ales; which was pretty disappointing considering the deep bottle list this place has been stockpiling for a significant period of time. The atmosphere feels like sitting in Belgium. I enjoyed a burger and a few regional taps along with a bottle of Kuhnhenn 4th Dimentia (you see how they roll). Service was kind and attentive. This place is definitely a landmark in the area.

A nice place in the outskirts of Barcelona. Mainly belgian and german brews on tap, along with some modern ones. A really wide bottle selection, topped up with an interesting selection of lambics (despite they were out of a couple we did ask for). Unfortunatelly the place seems to have been going down since Sven left. Still worthy, if in the surroundings.
Visited the 3rd March with happyhoppy before the Barcelona Beer Festival. On the small town of Mataro in north of Barcelona you will fine this treasure. When you enter the tap beer selection is amazing... how can you get Oerbier on tap ?!? Very nice place and peaceful. Good belgian beer range for a good value. You will find also some treasure on the fridge. Good staff. That was a good evening with some nice beer. Difficult to find but if you have time and you are on the area itís a must to stop just for the belgian selection. Thanks for the greeting and the selection.
Very very nice place. Like a Dutch íbruin cafeí mixed with the good Belgian pubs you can find in Antwerpen or Gent. Very knowledgable personal. Even the good looking young girls. Good selection, good prices. Loved it. Will go back for sure.
Been here during the "meet the brewers" Night. The Place is decorated like a belgian abbey, the selection on tap was very good. Sven, the owner, knows how to treat you and heís very appassionate. He showed me his cellar, and i have to say i was pretty empressed. I took back home some belgian vintages bottles and the prices were good.
For sure i will return.
Great decoration, great ambiance. One of the best selection of beer Iíve found, with lots of belgian beers difficult to find here in Spain, and alsolots of other countries beers. Great variety on tap, and good service. I didnít taste the food, but Iíll come back to taste it (and to drink good beer).
